Chapter 8 - Jealous of my own hands

Tyler's Pov

English class was interesting, although I have classes with my buddies; I still can't help but look at Jade. Sometimes, I really wish that I can read somebody's mind, but I guess only vampires have that ability. The guys were discussing about which girl should they bring to the homecoming dance. I'm just crossing my fingers that Mia won't bug me to bring her to the dance. The last homecoming dance was horrible, she told the whole school that I was bringing her to the dance when I clearly didn't even said yes. At the end I just decided to blew her off and skip the dance. This is why I am never going for school dances anymore.

"Dude it's time for lunch. You coming?" Chase asked me after class.

"I'll catch up with you guys later. I got to go put my things back." That's just a pathetic excuse to check her silently, making sure she's safe and okay. I don't usually act like this, but Jade gives me an urge to protect her...... Hmm... Maybe it's because of her innocence? Or maybe her naïve looks? She's not like all those other girls who would die for my attention.Just when I was in the middle of my thought, Jade came running instantly stumbling on me, dropping all my books.

" I'm so sorry" she apologized as she immediately helped me to pick up my books.

"Hey! It's not a big deal." I picked up some of the remaining books and took the rest from her, pulling her up. "Are you rushing to somewhere?"

"Not really. It's just recess and I'm hungry. I also promised to meet up with my friends." She said blushing a light shade of pink. She looked so cute when she blushed. I quickly grabbed the opportunity to walk her to the cafeteria while asking her about our practice sessions.

I have never played with anyone else in my life, playing with her changed everything. She's so talented but she doesn't have any confidence in herself at all. I made a promise to myself that I would help her out of her comfort zone. "So about our next practice, when are you free?"

"How about every day after school? I'm free."

Yes! I smiled to myself. She actually agreed! I know it's for the sake of the audition, but that's the best chance I can get to be with her alone. She's the first girl that I actually want to spend time with, the rest of the school's girl just annoys me. Well not all of them, some of them are still okay. "Cool, so shall we start tomorrow?"

"But, I don't have a ride home. Cause I can't keep my sister waiting everyday"

"I can give you a ride home if you don't mind" I immediately offered her.

I rolled my eyes when Satan's spawn decided to interrupt us when Jade was about to answer me. Why on earth is she always everywhere? Doesn't she know that she's annoying? "Tyler! Come on join me and Jennifer for lunch. Don't tell me you are joining......Her?" It was clear that she despises Jade with her bitchy tone. I can see that her sarcasms were hurting Jade...... So I needed to stop the next world war from happening.

"Actually...... I'm joining the gang so no thank you." I'm begging that she would take the hint and leave me alone for once. Just fucking once!

"Great! Then we will join your table then!" Wait? That backfired quickly. Before I even got the chance to reject, Mia held onto my hand and dragged me away leaving Jade behind. Screw my life. When I was being dragged away unwillingly, I turned around to see that Jade is already walking towards the other direction. A instant pang of guilt crash towards me, I felt so sorry for her. She doesn't deserve to be treated that way by Mia, moreover she's treated that way because I'm the one talking to her....

"Hey Man! Saved a seat for you!" Dylan called out.

I motioned him with an annoyed face that Mia and Jennifer was coming behind me. In a second, Dylan's face changed. It's like he met a ghost, his close though she is the spawn of Satan in my opinion.
