I don't remember finding my way to Chirons (shocking) but I arrive when I wake up. Literally I wake up and I am there.
I'm sitting on a plushy blue couch in a large room, with random junk in it. I think I'm alone but no, there's Will, standing, facing another person in the room.
"Will" I call urgently.
He doesn't listen, but I know he can hear me.
"As I was saying before our guest rudely interrupted me" a cold voice drawls "Chiron is currently away at the moment"
I whip around. Sitting next to me is a plump, bloodshot eyed, squat man. He slouches as men in stockings come around, offering him beverages.
"Do you want anything else, Lord Dionysus?"
"I shall go get you a can of Diet Coke if you would like, sir."
"Is that all master?"
"Yes, go away now" the little man in the loud purple Hawaiian shirt waved them off. He is clearly bored with his servants.
"Lord Dionysus, please, where is Chiron?" Will repeats, trying to mask his aggravation.
"I already told you, he's training the other brats" Dionysus snaps.
"Who is training the other brats?" A deep male voice asks politely.
A man appeared in the doorway. A man horse, I should say. He had a bare chest covered in thick, curly hair until the waist where his legs left for a palomino horse's flank. A centaur, I think.
He addresses me in a even tone "Good evening. I see you have adjusted very well being awake."
"Well I'd adjust better if you could tell me what I am or where I'm from because I'm so tired of not knowing."
Chiron looked sad as he stared at me intently "Alas I cannot tell you right now. It seems as though the time is not right."
I slam my palms on the table "Are you actually seriously? I don't even know my name! Give me back my memories!"
Chiron doesn't flinch at my outburst. In fact, my reaction made him look more depressed. "I'm sorry to say that I don't have them. They are gone somewhere even I cannot locate."
"We'll find them then."
"Like I said, I cannot. I can teach you the basics of what you have to do in order to survive."
"Give me a name then."
He ponders for a while "X"
Dionysus lets out a harsh laugh "X? Wrong move Chiron."
He disappears from view with only the smell of grapes left behind.
I lower my eyes in defeat "How am I going to know who I really am now?"
Chiron shifts into a wheelchair. I'm baffled at the magic of it. He looks like a regular human now.
"Your parent might claim you tonight, you never know. The best way to win in life is to be optimistic"
"Chiron, I remembered a name" I look at Will who nods "Do you know a man named Percy Jackson?"
Chiron looks surprised. Finally, he regains his composure and tells me softly "Child, I think it's time to go to dinner. There will be some underlying answers awaiting you..."Ooooohhhhh! Did I trick you or what? Nah, don't worry, maybe it's next chapter. Or maybe it's like the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle, putting in one piece at a time until you see the whole story. Anyways, read on to find out. Hopefully, I'll keep all of you entertained.
Peace, love, science
