He had only one suit, dark blue, because he wore suits infrequently. He wasn't about to tell Corinne that fact. 'I had a meeting this morning with the company I work for.'

'Lots of consulting with management?'

He didn't want to admit he got the second week away from work because, not only to see Corinne, but also to make sure her ex-husband wasn't treating her badly. 'I'm taking some time off for the next few days, so I promise to wear something else next time.'

'You must tell me about your typical day, Harry. I want to know all about you.'

The possibility of telling her much more about his job was zero. He thought to himself he had better steer away from details. On a side table, he noticed photographs in an assortment of silver frames showing Corinne with various personalities, whom he guessed were other people in the acting world. 'You must find my sort of office career so boring compared with the creative world you're in.' They stood facing the garden, a neat arrangement of grass with flower borders on either side and a screen of two trees at the far end and a bench.
