No answer came. She said, 'They own a cafe in Paris.' It seemed a bizarre thing to say, but she didn't care. The way he looked at her, the expression in his brown eyes with their flecks of silver, was the only thing she cared about.

'I want to have a cafe ... when I resign from my job. It's my ambition.'

'Is that a yes, you'll meet my parents?'

He nodded.

'You're an interesting man, Harry.' She knew that starting a cafe business would require capital, money to equip and furnish, pay the rent, pay staff, buy in supplies - and Harry's lifestyle was modest, which meant his dream of a cafe would be difficult. There was an obvious gap between his lack of money and her wealth - her multi-million value London house, her second property by the sea, her million pound annual income. Yet, she wondered who was happier.
