Double Update!!

Her father was now standing in a clearing, surrounded by masked figures. She could see them from her hiding spot behind a tree. Maybe she should've run. In fact, if she had everything would have turned out better in the end, but that wasn't in her nature. Better to die a hero than to live a coward. If only she'd known!

They were closing in on her father, each one wearing dark robes that had a hood that covered their faces. The one that seemed to be the leader stepped forwards. Talking in a hushed voice that the little eavesdropper behind the tree couldn't hear, the figure addressed Brayden. He nodded, and the cloaked shadow whisked back into the woods with the others following.

Cautiously, she crept forwards and went to stand behind the King. "Father," she said, struggling to keep her voice steady, "who were those... those... people?"

He turned to her, slowly. Something was wrong. His body had gone rigid, and his eyes were as black as night, sucking all of the happiness out from the air around them. When her father spoke his voice came in a faint , ghoulish whisper, "Princess, we meet at last." Stumbling backwards, the girl spoke in a trembling voice, "D-Daddy?" Tilting it's head back, the cruel creature laughed, "No! Your father is not here child! Well, I suppose his body is for the moment, but no matter. I am Bezitten. Do you know what that means? My name? It means possess. Funny isn't it? How one's body and soul can so easily be tampered with? How I could make you fight your father to the death? Oh, you will. You will if you do not do as I ask."

Shaking violently, the young princess asked what he wished for her to do. Smirking, Bezitten said, "I want you to marry my son, possessor of the wolf, Erin." A young wolf with gleaming green eyes came into the clearing. The princess, her voice growing steadily stronger, asked a different question, "What are you? I've heard of Fires, Rocks but you are clearly neither. So what are you?" Bezitten answered her, "Finally catching on are you? No we are not Fires nor Rocks, we are Possessors. We can change into one thing and one thing only, but I am a special case. Being the ruler, I can change, take over, anything. So, will you marry my son or kill your father?"

"I will marry Erin if you promise to never again take over my family's body's." Giving her a mock curtsy he said, "But of course." The darkness left her father's eyes and he collapsed unconscious onto the ground. "Help me." she said to Erin. He obliged and together they pulled the King to the edge of the woods. Making sure the other Possessors would not follow, the princess drew a line of blazing fire. Suddenly her father jumped up and threw himself into the flames.

"NO!" the princess screeched with pure anguish. She willed with all her might for the fire to leave, to return to where it had come from, but it only grew higher. She could see the darkness leave her father's eyes. He withered in agony. "NO, NO PLEASE!" She fell to her knees at the base of the fire, tears streaming down her face. Flames came in every direction, they swallowed everything else in sight."SAVE HIM! Y-you promised you wouldn't, you wouldn't. PLEASE SOMEONE SAVE HIM! DADDY! DADDY I LOVE YOU AND I AM SO SORRY! I'm so sorry. Daddy." His body was slowly turning to ashes, his ice would do nothing against this flame, hot and hungry. Hot and desperate. He looked into his daughter's eyes one last time and she thought she could hear him say, "I love you too." But maybe it was just her imagination.
