Chapter 9

Scarlet watched the whole episode, and quite frankly enjoyed it. Yes, she watched as Thea dissolved into tears over the grief that she had killed Kai, whom Scarlet was holding captive in one of her castle towers. Smiling wickedly, Scarlet saw her whole plan falling together. When a Fire was unstable it was much easier to manipulate, and now Thea was hers!

This is just fantastic, she could kill off every last Fire with this girl, and she was going to. Hmmmm. I think I'll start with her best friend. Yes, then I'll take her out of her trance just enough to let her see him dying. Then she'll be almost broken, and I will pounce. I will kill. I will dominate!

Smirking, Scarlet brushed the dust off her dark green dress that flowed majestically to the ground. Hiking up the long skirt, Scarlet stepped out of the castle's dungeons just in time for it to collapse. Well that's disappointing, but it will be worth it when I rule the world.

She could hardly wait! Oh this was SO EXCITING! Smiling like a chimpanzee, Scarlet flowed into her main entrance for the castle, just in time to be stopped by one of her own castle guards. "Your majesty, everything is going as planned, but I suggest that you don't enter the castle just yet. The dungeons have collapsed and this floor is unstable." Sighing Scarlet brushed that comment aside and replied to the guard, "Darling, I want you to go tell your General that she is to gather up her best soldiers and follow Thea. I want you to watch every move she makes, report what she does back to me, and you are not to engage her. Do you understand?"

"Yes your majesty, I will inform General Skiler." Just before the guard left, Scarlet caught his attention once more, "Has Commonder Pinna found Thea's friend yet?" The guard shifted uncomfortably. "We know now that the boy's name is Erin, and, um, well-" "SPIT IT OUT!" "Commander Pinna disappeared a few days ago, and has not been found since." The guard blurted. That's one way to ruin my perfect day. ARGGGGGG! THAT STUPID COMMANDER RUINED EVERYTHING! Taking a deep breath, Scarlet asked in a cold calculating voice, "What do we know about her?" "Your majesty, we have run Pinna's blood tests, and she is a Fire. Oh, but not just any Fire my queen, she is a royal."

Grabbing the guard's collar, she lifted him off the ground and forced all of her anger at him until he looked so terrified that he might die. Not bothering to hide her hate, she yelled, "FIND PINNA, FIND ERIN, FIND THEA, AND KILL THEM ALL!!!!!" Then she reconsidered, "Actually, just bring them to me, you couldn't kill them brutally enough." Scarlet dropped the guard and wiped her hands on the sides of her dress. Nodding vigorously, the guard gave a rushed bow and ran out of her line of sight more quickly then she would have thought possible.

I still have Thea, my lovely little weapon. And now I know who the princess is. I found you. Now the Fires will have no hope, now you will finally be dead!
