Ch. 2. Two o'clock

Niall's POV

I wake up to a scream that night.

It is horrible, my eyes aren't open at first, but I know exactly who it is.

It was Ellie.

"Ellie, love?" I say as I walk over to her. She hasn't moved from her spot on the chair, but she is wailing, crying and shaking.

"Shit," I whisper looking at her tear-stained face. I start crying in frustration as I sit down beside her. "It's okay Ellie," I say, "Niall's here, and I'll take real good care of you."

She continues to whimper as I pick up my iPhone and dial Liam's number.

"What is it, Ni," Liam asks, obviously still half asleep.

"It's Ellie," I say, "She's having a nightmare about her past. I was warned about this, but...but..." I can't get the words out. "It's horrible!" I sob, "It's so sad! I need help Li!".

He groans. "I'm on my way," he complains.

"Thank you," I say, "And do me a favor, don't tell Louis."

"Okay," he snaps before hanging up.

He is here in a few minutes. "Dear lord," he says as soon as he walks in the door, "That is pitiful!"

I nodded. "Imagine how I feel," I say. He nods.

"Okay," he says, "Take out your guitar, we're going to sing."

"How the hell will that help!" I shout, tugging at my hair because I can no longer handle my frustration.

"It works when Dani is upset," he says shrugging. I sigh as I grabbed my guitar.  If it's the only way.

"What will we sing?" I ask.

"I don't know," he says, "I am half asleep, you woke me up, you choose, and by the way, I'm not going to try to drive home, the drive here was bad enough." I laugh as I think of what to sing.

"Half a heart?" I ask.

"Why not," he groans, "But if I don't sound like an angel, don't blame me, blame the fact that it's two o'clock in the morning." I laugh. "You're a card, Liam," I tell him.

The song glides out of my mouth so easily. The song sounds beautiful, better than it ever sounded. And, Ellie stops crying. "Two o'clock does you justice," I tell him laughing. He slaps me.

"Oh shut up," he says, smiling.

"She really is quite adorable," Liam says, "Harry is going to lose it when he meets her."

"I know it," I laugh out.

Ellie wakes up a few hours later when Dani bursts in. "My lord, Liam," she says, "I didn't have a clue where you were! You scared me half to death! I thought that something was wrong with one of the boys or even you!"

"Well, something was wrong," Liam says, "Niall was having child problems."

I wave at Dani and smiles as she sighs at sits beside Liam, but smiles really hard at Ellie. Dani looks at Ellie. "Harry is going to fu-reak!"

"That's what I said!" Liam shouts, smiling at the fact that he is totally in sync with his girlfriend.

"What did I do?" Ellie asks, innocently.

"You had a nightmare," I tell her, "And you were crying and stuff. Liam helped me sing to you and we were all good." She smiles. "Thank you," she says.

"Did you do your hair like that?" Dani asks her.

"Yeah," she says. "Can you do it to me?" Dani asks Ellie, "My hair is a mess."

"Sure," Ellie tells her as Dani sits in front of her. Ellie grabs a hair brush and begins to do her hair as I talk to the adults.

"So," I say, "How are you guys doing?"

"Well," Dani says, "I was fine until I woke up at like eight in the morning to find that Liam was missing. I was so Godd..gosh darn nervous to do anything!" I laugh and so does Liam.

"Sorry, love," Li says, "But Niall was have some serious issues, you know that he hates it when girls cry." She nods. "I guess so," she says.

"So," Liam says, "What are you planning on doing today?"

"Well," I say, "I figured that I would take Ellie out to meet everyone." "Sounds nice," Dani says. "I hope you guys have fun!"

"Yeah," Liam says, "I'm taking Dani out for dinner tonight."

"Oh, really," she says, "How sweet! Thank God Ellie's doing my hair." Ellie laughs.

"We'd better be going," Liam says, "See you soon, I'm sure." I laugh.

"Me too," Liam replies, rolling his eyes as he exits the door.
