Ch. 10 Family

Niall's POV

We spent the next five days preparing to Ireland. I was very excited to see my mum. Ellie was just as excited.

"What is she like?" Ellie asked. "Well," I said, "She is nice and funny. Oh, and she taught me to be me, so you should like her." She smiled. "Well, if she's anything like you, then I will love her," she replied. "Good," I said, "Then we shouldn't have any problems here." I put five pairs of jeans and shirts in my bag. "Did you pack yet?" I asked. She nodded and smiled as she held her bag out to me. I heard the doorbell ring. "I'd better get that," I said. We ran downstairs and opened the door.

"Liam! Zayn! Harry! Louis!" she shouted as she hugged them. "Hello, love," Liam said. "What's up guys?" "We figured we would have a little early Christmas celebration with you all before we leave," Zayn said as he held out some cold-cut ham sandwiches. "You guys," I said, "You are great." "Presents first!" Louis yelled. I smiled as I gestured to the Christmas tree. "Go at it," I replied as they all sat around the tree.

"For Harry, for Louis, for Liam, for Zayn, and for Niall," she said. We each looked at our presents as we ripped off the paper. "Oh. My. God." Harry said. We were all speechless as we looked at the presents.

"They are beautiful, love," I said as we looked at the silicone braclets. Each one said, "Belief is all that is needed," and each one had our name on it and said, "Love, Ellie." It brought most of us near tears. "You like them?" she asked. We all nodded as we handed her our gifts.

She opened mine first. I smiled wide as she looked at the blue dog tags that matched my silver ones. Her name was engraved in it. "I love it," she said. She opened my second gift to see an, "I love Nialler!" sweatshirt. She laughed so hard as she put it on. She came over to me and hugged and kissed me.

Ellie's POV

My next gift was from Harry. "Open it babe," he said, smiling really hard. I ripped the packaging open to see the gift. It was a picture of me with all of them at Nando's in a blue picture frame. "I love it, Harry," I told him as I hugged him.

Next was Liam's gift. I expected it to be very meaningful. I took it and looked at the wrapping paper. Sparkly. Just the way I like it. I ripped it open to see every magazine that I had been in. "Yeah!" I said as I hugged Liam. "Its perfect," I whispered. "I thought so," he said as he smiled.

Next was Zayn's gift. "Here, love," he said. I took it and smiled at him. "Thank you," I said, not sure of what it would be. I smiled as I opened it slowly.

The gift didn't turn out to be that bad. It was a pair of black converse high tops. "I love them," I said as I walked over to Zayn and hugged him.

The next gift was Louis'. I had no clue what to expect from him considering that I didn't even think that he liked me. It was wrapped in carrot wrapping paper. So Louis likes carrots. I opened it to find otterboxes for my iPhone, each with a shade of blue. "Thank you," I whispered into his ear as I hugged him. "Thank you," he whispered back to me. I had no clue what he was talking about, but I accepted it.

After they opened their gifts from each other, we went to the kitchen for cold cut ham sandwiches. "In my family," I said, "We used to always sit around dinner and say what we werethankful for on Christmas." They all smiled. "Let's do it!" Louis exclaimed.

"Well," I said, "I'm thankful for all of you, my new family. I have never had anyone to love me, I have been abused. You guys don't do that to me. You hug me and hold me. You have given me my childhood back. I am thankful for you." They smiled as they all said what they were thankful for, but all of it mostly sounded like what I said. "Cheers!" Niall shouted as he raised his beer can. The boys did the same, and I rose my soda.

As we finished I looked around. This was my family. They may seem a little untraditional and rag-tag, but I loved them that way. They were all I had and all that I wanted.
