Ch. 34 Almost Out

(13 months later)

Niall's POV

My phone began to ring. I looked up at the boys. "This will only be a minute," I said. I got up and walked into another room.

"Hello?" I said. "This is Doctor Reynolds at the hospital, your daughter is slowly slipping out of her coma now. It is kind of dangerous because this wasn't supposed to happen for atleast another three months. I'm sorry to say that she probably will not live through it." I frowned and said, "O-Okay." I felt a tear slip out of my eye. I turned around to see all of the boys.

"You heard that?" I asked. They nodded. Liam began to cry and for the first time, Harry was crying too. "Well, let's go," I sighed. I grabbed a guitar and walked out the door with it.

I drove as fast as I could without breaking the law. My little Ellie was fourteen now, and she was going to die just a month after her fourteenth birthday. I started to cry as I thought about it.

As soon as I got there, I ran into the hospital, the boys following up behind me quickly. I ran to the desk. "To Ellie Horan's room," I said. I already knew where it was, so we ran to it.

I opened the door and looked at little Ellie. The doctors surronded her with the paddles and tons of other things, ready to slap her back to life at any moment.

I took out my guitar and looked at the boys. "Well, don't just stand there, sing," I said. I started to play the story of my life, Ellie's favorite song.

We sang it in perfect harmony. It almost made me cry as I watched her slightly moving body. I started playing a more upbeat tune and the boys smiled.

Straight off the plane to a new hotel

I smiled as we finished it and Liam laughed a little. Ellie's eyes began to flutter open. "Come on, baby," I whispered. She smiled as she looked at me, but then her face turned to stone. The doctor's eyes opened wide.

The men with the paddles jumped up. "Clear!" they shouted. I prayed that it would work. The heart rate moniter went back to its normal rhythem of Ellie's heart. I smiled as she looked at me.

"Sweetie, what is your name?" the neurological doctor asked. "Ellie, why didn't you just ask Niall?" she asked. "Baby," I whispered. I gave her a huge hug. "I knew that you would come through," I told her. "Why wouldn't I?" she asked.

The doctor's eyes widened. "We have to make sure that she only forgot what happened at the crime scene," he said. They wheeled Ellie out, and just like that, my little girl was away from me again.

"What the hell," I whispered as soon as they left. I sat down and the boys and I all joined hands. There was no way that she could have lost any of her memory, was there?
