Fin prepared the ice cream for us in the kitchen, while Rhett and I sat on the couch.

"Maybe I should go ahead." Rhett said looking at Fin in the kitchen.

I pouted at him, "But you promised we'll eat dessert together." I whined.

Fin was holding three servings of coffee crumble and handed us our share. He sat between Rhett and I. "Why are you being so clingy Gogo? That's so unlike you." Fin commented as he swallowed a spoonful of ice cream.

I swatted his arm in return, but he was far from being done grilling his bestfriend/client.

"She is not like this at all, trust me. Guys were the ones usually clinging to her." He explained. "We're not officially introduced, I'm Fin, Gogo's bestfriend and her manager." Fin stated extending his hand to Rhett.

Rhett shook Fin's hand. "I'm Rhett, nice to meet you." Fin looked at me after shaking Rhett's hand and mouthed the word 'hot' or is it 'ow'? I couldn't really tell cause Rhett's grip was that firm.

"Are you Gogo's boyfriend? Because trust me, she doesn't do boyfriends." Rhett choked on his ice cream, hearing Fin's inquiry.

I slapped Fin's chest, "Stop it! We're friends."

"Ow! Why are you hurting me?" Fin whined.

After Rhett chugged down a glass of water, he stood up. "I should probably get going, thank you for the meal and dessert. "

I frowned looking at Fin, "Look at what you've done?! You made my guest leave."

Fin looked offended. "What did I do?"

Rhett smiled, "It has nothing to do with Fin, I really need to get going cause I have a competition to attend." He explained.

Our eyes widened, "What competition?" Fin and I chorused.

"It's a mixed martial arts competition." He announced calmly.

Oh geez. That's why he's constantly looking at his watch earlier. I've been a very selfish brat hogging all his time.

"You should get going, you might be late. Why didn't you say so earlier? You might not make it." I said worriedly, feeling bad already.

Rhett just shrugged. "We have an alloted time for practice, so no worries. I won't be late." He smirked. "Besides I enjoyed cooking and eating here. Thanks for having me."

"Does that mean you used up that alloted time to stay here? You won't be able to practice when you get there. Isn't that alarming? Going in a fight without any practice?" Fin interrupted. My heart sank at what he said.

Rhett noticed my reaction and patted my head. "I'll be fine. Don't worry."

I don't know why, but tears began to fall on my cheeks. "It's my fault. I'm sorry."

"Why are you crying? He's not a soldier going to a warzone. I bet my money he'll win that fight." Fin reassured me.

"It's not your fault. If it makes you feel better, I won't even let my opponent get one hit on me." Rhett stated.

"You won't let your opponent hit you? How are you gonna even do it?" I asked curiously, wiping away my tears.

"I want you to feel better so it'll be easy dodging punches. It would be exciting." He vaguely explained. "See you around Fin. See you at uni Gorgeous, take care of your ankle." He waved.

With that, I trusted him with all my heart that he won't get hurt. Fin nudged me, "Who is Rhett exactly to you?"

And the interrogation begins.
