Chapter 27 - SEVENTEENTH FLOOR

I was distracted the whole day at class by what Aimee told me.

What if he really likes me?

My heart was instantly filled with joy, and I'm trying my hardest to stop myself. I don't want to experience that heartache ever.

I was looking around because I haven't seen Rhett since the party. He was not here in our class. I gazed at the empty chair beside me.

"M-mind if I sit down here, miss Go-gorgeous?" Conan asked, looking at the same empty chair. "Y-you know, since Rhett's not coming because of training." There was hope in his voice.

Oh right! His training! I totally forgot about it.

"Yeah, sure. If you want, you can sit here." I said, standing up.

"Where are you going? Our class is about to start." He asked, a bit disappointed.

I smiled in haste, "I forgot I have an appointment. Mind if you take the notes for me?"

I'm sure Rhett hates missing his classes, good thing Conan is here to take notes.

He smiled back, "Leave it to me, miss Gorgeous." He said, the tip of his ears turning pink.

I dashed outside to the parking lot to get my car. I checked my reflection in the window of my car, and pleased that I've managed to look divine.

As I got inside, I double checked the address given to me by captain and I made my way there to their private gym excitedly.

The building was huge, I thought they would own a small private gym but it was much bigger than what I've expected.

I parked my car, then proceeded inside the building. The guard blocked my way, "Yes ma'am?" He backed away a little when he saw me, mesmerizee.

"Um. Is this the Vaughn's private gym?" I inquired.

He then got out of his trance, "D-do you have an appointment, madam?" He looked at me up and down.

"I'm a friend of Rhett's. So, is he here?" I asked again beginning to be irritated. "And no, I didn't know that I need to schedule an appointment to be able to get in." I added.

"Can I have an identification card?" He asked, punching numbers on the telephone. I handed him my university ID.

"There's somebody by the name of  Gorgeous Antoinette looking for young master... Yes... She's right here... Alright..." He then hang up, handing me my ID back.

"Follow me madam." He said heading to the elevator. I obliged, he stopped in front of the elevator.

"What floor?" I asked him. "Second floor is where the gym is. But I'm instructed to escort you to the seventeenth floor." He answered seriously. We entered the elevator, then he pushed the button number seventeen.

"Who instructed you?" I asked him. "You'll meet her soon." He stated.

Her? So it's not Rhett who instructed him. Who is she then? Oh my God!! Don't tell me she's his girlfriend?

I was about to ask him who 'she' was, when we arrived at the seventeenth floor. The elevator door opened for us, and we headed to the lobby. There was a huge door and the guard lead me there. He opened it for me and I went inside. I jumped when he closed the door behind me.

I looked around and observed that it was like an office. People inside were busy doing their job not even minding me.

Who called me here? I feel like it was my job interview in which I didn't applied for.

People froze when somebody got out of the office looking towards me, familiar gray eyes piercing through mine. She had a short-pixie cut hair and a petite frame. As she skipped towards me, all eyes were on us.

"Gorgeous Antoinette!! How lovely to finally meet you!" The pretty lady greeted, smiling from ear to ear.

She gave me a tight hug, then released me just to take a good look at me. "Wow!" She exhaled looking at me still grinning.

I managed to smile back, but done awkwardly. "Hi. I'm sorry but do I know you?" I asked whispering, because everyone stopped what they're doing just to look at us.

The lady in front of me laughed heartily, "Of course we haven't met yet. Silly me. I just got too excited." She explained. "Come, let's go to my office for some privacy." She winked, then looked at the people around us.

"Back to work people. Show's over." She announced, pulling me along with her to the office.
