"I can't stand her. Ugh!" I whined at Aimee, earning a raised eyebrow from her.

"Don't tell me you're kinda jealous?" She asked smiling.

I scoffed at her question, "Of course not." I answered, as if.

She's not even worth thinking about.

"Then why are you so angry at her?" Aimee asked.

Why indeed?

I pouted, "Look at my arms!!" I exclaimed, flailing them around. "I have bruises from our mock sparring." I whined some more.

"I remember you said you're the one who challenged her to a mock sparring. You didn't even listen to Rhett when he told you that you're not yet ready." Aimee said.

I crossed my arms, pouting at her.  "Whose side are you on?"

She rolled her eyes at me. "Don't roll your eyes at me! Did you know that you almost ruined my relationship with Rhett?" I stated, throwing a pillow at her.

She removed the pillow quickly, "What? How?" She asked in alarm.

"When you told me 'I knew you'd succeed', he kinda got mad at me after I explained to him what it meant." I said looking at my bruises.

She went to my side of the bed, "Oh my gosh. I didn't mean to ruin your relationship with him. I'm so sorry." Aimee said hugging me.

I patted her arms, "It's alright Aimee, it worked out fine. At least now, I don't have any secrets from him."

"What about Dean? Did you told him about him?" She asked.

It made me remember our highschool days. Though Dean and I were never really a thing, he thought otherwise. He became my number one stalker. I've never really thought about him since entering the university. I shivered.

I shook my head no, "I think it's better if Rhett didn't know, Dean's in the past now."

Aimee agreed and just nodded meekly. My phone rang and speak of the devil, it's Rhett.

"Hey babe." I answered.

"Hey. I just wanna check on you." He said.

I pointed to Aimee that it was Rhett, "I'm fine. Just a little black and blue here and there."

I heard him sigh on the other line. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have let you mock spar with her." He said.

Well, technically it was my fault for insisting that we spar. You know, pride got the best out of me after hearing that 'she's the best' out of Rhett's mouth.

"Not your fault baby." I said.

"Anyway, I'm right outside your door. If you'd let me check on you I would feel much better." He said.

I squealed, amd Aimee looked at me like I was crazy. "Rhett's here!" I told her, jumping out of my bed.

"Who's with you?" I heard Rhett from the other line.

I hurriedly made my way outside my room to meet him. "Aimee's here."

I opened the door for him. "Hi." I breathed.

He clicked the end line. "Hi." He replied getting inside. He looked at the bruises at my arms and frowned at them.

"It's fine. Aimee tended to it earlier." I said.

He gently touch my bruises then sighed, "I told you not to spar with her." He stated.

I pouted. "Just testing if I can do it."

He smiled at me endearingly. "I'm proud of you though."

There it is again, his gray eyes staring back at me.

Our heads turn towards Aimee who coughed rather audibly. "I could go now. Since Rhett is here." She squeaked then made her way to the door.

"You could stay the night Aims." I offered.

She looked at me, then at Rhett. "I'd rather not." She answered half-giggling.

She bolted out the door then yelled, "Have fun you two!" Then shut the door behind her.
