Chapter 33 - DINNER DATE

After he revealed his reasons why we couldn't be together, it felt like the world was lifted from our shoulders when we both gave in to our feelings and letting it dictate where this relationship is going.

"Boyfriend huh?" I asked teasingly. "You haven't asked me yet if I accept."

He grinned slowly, "Well, I know for a fact that you like me more than as a friend." Confidence exuding in him.

"Cocky." I commented, though I really like his teasing side.

He chuckled, "Whatever. You like me." I rolled my eyes at him.

"Gorgeous." He called. The way he said my name made me look at him in alarm. His voice, longing and serious at the same time.

He was now serious, humor gone from his face, but the twinkle in his eyes visible. I stared back at him, waiting.

"Gorgeous Antoinette." He spoke again, reaching for my hand placed on the table. "Will you be my girlfriend?" He asked, planting a kiss on the back of my hand.

Doing it all while intensely gazing at me. Agh! His eyes!!

His gaze lingered, until I can't take it anymore. "Duh." I scoffed. "I've been chasing you since we've met. I'd be crazy if I say no.  Yes!! Rhett, yes."

His hand squeezed mine. "Thank you."

Dinner was served and we ate in a comfortable silence. "I asked Conan to take notes for us since you skipped class today."

He looked surprised for a moment, "Really? You did that?"

I nodded proudly, look at that I'm being a good girlfriend already.

"Thanks baby." He said appreciatively.  The nickname caught me off guard.

It was like a seal to our relationship, like it's official. Of course it's real, dummy.

He eyed me carefully, "You don't like baby?"
"Baby." I repeated liking the way how it sounded. "I like it, I just never thought I'd use it as an endearment."

"Get used to it babe." He winked. My phone rang that moment, and I excused myself. He frowned a bit.

"Sorry. I have to take it, it's Fin." I explained. He just nodded.

"This better be important, Fin. I'm in the middle of something." I hissed at Fin on the phone, not even bothering to say hello.

He scoffed at me on the other line, "What's more important than work? I'm speaking as your manager not as your BFF."

My face scrunched up, making Rhett look at me with concern. "Seriously, what's up Fin? I'm having dinner with Rhett right now."

"What?!!!" He exclaimed, making me put away my phone from my ear. "How did that happen?!! Remember Gogo, he BROKE YOUR HEART!!" Fin was still shouting from the other line, and Rhett probably heard him.

Rhett held out his hand and I handed him my phone. Better him than me.

"Fin.. Yeah she's with me... Eating.. We're together-yeah... Reasons... No.. I'll explain it to you... Talk to you soon... Yeah, bye." Rhett said handing me back my phone. "He wants to talk to you."

I inhaled before answering Fin, "I'll hear everything from you after the shoot. I'll text you when and where our next photoshoot will be. Enjoy your dinner Gogo." Fin said, not even waiting for me to say anything when he hung up the phone.

"What did you do to my blabbermouth bestfriend? He seemed.. tame." I stated, staring at my phone, bewildered.

He smirked, "Even though he's gay, we spoke to each other like men. We understand each other. I just promised him an explanation, after I told him we're together."

I pondered for a minute, "Seems like you've tamed him." I smiled wickedly.

"Was it about work?" He said already changing the topic.

"Yeah. Photoshoot. Modeling." I answered. He examined my reaction carefully.

"He's always with you when you work?" He asked casually.

"Not always. Sometimes he'd just text when and where to show up." I said. "Why?"

"It's not safe when you're alone." He commented. "I'll talk to Fin about it, don't worry. Eat up."

I'm not worried about myself, I'm worried about him being worried.

Can I handle this relationship? Oh God. I need to talk to Fin or Aimee about this.

Gah! Baby.
