They finished their sparring session without disturbance while I remain dumbfounded watching Rhett. Wondering if I only imagined that kiss.

Captain Kenny looked between Rhett and me awkwardly. "I'll see you both in the club. I didn't know you two--never mind. I'll go ahead. Please just don't get distracted from training, both of you." He said leaving Rhett and me alone in the gym.

My heart hammered in my chest like the humming bird.

"So.." I started, feeling a little bit shy around him. A trait I constantly only acquire when Rhett is involve.

Cause you know, I'm usually confident. Maybe even more than I like to admit.

He looked at me tenderly, putting an arm over my shoulder. "Let's eat." He declared, not even asking.

This cocky and arrogant side of Rhett was refreshing. It draws me more to him.

"Where?" I inquired looking up at him. His eyes meeting mine. His gaze was so alluring. I felt like a prey to him, tables are turning, I guess.

I used to look at him that way, like he was my prey. So what changed? I honestly don't know. But I have a hunch that it has something to do with me falling deeper into him.

"At Rona's." He answered, looking calm and confident while I felt anxious and confused as to where he's taking this relationship.

The last time we 'ate' and had a 'talk' it didn't end well with me. I tried to push that memory out of my head.

I smiled, "Oh yeah! I met your sister earlier. She's really nice to me."

He scoffed. "She's something."  He commented as we head to the elevator.

"Should we invite her?" As much as I like being alone with Rhett, some part of me wanted to get to know him through his sister.

He shook his head no, "She's busy around this time of the month."

I nudged him with my shoulder lightly, "You just want me all to yourself." I teased accusingly.

He looked taken aback but recovered his features with a smile. "Maybe." He then said seriously.

I have no answer to that, I usually have the last word between us. He left me flabbergasted.

We drove and arrived at Rona's restaurant using my car, and was seated immediately thanks to Rhett's link to the owner.

I looked at the menu and ordered pasta, Rhett did the same but I bet he's only gonna eat something healthy.

I'm getting giddy again knowing this looks like a promising date.

He cleared his throat breaking my train of thought. I met his gaze.

"About that kiss--" He started, but I cut him off.

"Don't you dare apologize about that kiss, Rhett. I know you're not sorry." I don't really know for sure if he's sorry but if he was, I'm outta here faster than you can say not again.

He exhaled, "I'm not gonna apologize, Gorgeous. I just want to talk about us."

I froze, "We're not even together and you're already breaking up with me?"

He chuckled briefly. Did he thought I was joking? I'm dead serious.

"Hear me out. Let me finish talking." He said sternly.

I gulped hard. "Okay. Talk." Am I ready for this second heartbreak?
