"Hey bro." Hayley spoke over the phone to Adalynn, her 'bro' sounding more like 'bra.' Her phone call had woken up Adalynn, who had still spent most of her week sleeping- even though the jet-lag was cured  on the first few days.

"Hey. What's up?" Over the past week Adalynn and Hayley had become very close, texting and calling each other every day that they didn't see each other. Adalynn had finally become comfortable around Hayley, and had begun to show her real personality -instead of her shy outer-self.

"I got work today." Hayley groaned, "Oh wait, didn't you like need a job? If you want I can see what I can do with my manager." Hayley actually worked at the Starbucks next door where they had first hung out.

"Oh yeah definitely! That would be great! Thanks!"

"Cool, cool. We can be like...working buddies. You should come in today... And maybe you can fill out an application."

Adalynn groaned, "Ughhhhhhhhhhh-kay. I don't have anything to do. I just, really don't want to get up. I haven't left my bed like, all week. And I really think it would be a shame to break that record." Hayley laughed but didn't argue with her. "Fine." Adalynn sighed, "I'll come. Your silence speaks for you." Hayley laughed again before they said their goodbyes and hung up.

Adalynn took her time taking a shower and combing out her hair. She sighed as she pulled on her clothes and laced her converse. Adalynn walked out into her living room and straightened the fake plant that Hayley had given her. "Good morning, Curtis." She said to the plant. (Yes, she named a plant Curtis.)

She went into her kitchen and opened her nearly empty fridge, that held only a gallon orange juice. Adalynn hadn't bought any food, since she had no money. For food she relied mostly on the jar of Nutella in her cabinet and the gallon of orange juice, unless she went to go eat out with Hayley (which happened quite often). Adalynn took a swig from the gallon before closing her fridge and deciding to head out.

Adalynn was greeted at the Starbucks with a burst of warm coffee filled air. "Why good morning, Adylynnlynn!" Hayley called from the counter . The Starbucks was empty, as this particular one usually was. "How are you this fine morning?"

"Adalynnlynn? You've gotten very creative." Adalynn laughed, setting down her bag. She hated carrying around a purse, but she decided that she would just for today.

"I know. I'm just so special. Anyway, I've talked to my manager about getting you a job and since I'm the manager I decided that I am giving you a job. You just gotta fill out the application."

"You're the manager? You never told me that."

"Yeah well it isn't the most interesting thing. I don't exactly put it on my 'list of high achievements' if you know what I mean." Hayley spoke while kneeling in front of a cabinet. She then opened it and pulled out a stack of papers which she handed to Adalynn. "Your application, dear Adalynn." Adalynn smiled and thanked her before sitting down and starting the paperwork.  It didn't take her that long despite the fact that Hayley had started blasting music from her Ipod and talked to her the entire time she was working. When she finished she handed Hayley the papers, who flitted through them before grinning up at Adalynn. "Well, congratulations. You've got the job."

Adalynn raised her arms in a cheer. "Woo! That was probably one of the hardest job applications I've ever taken!"

Hayley laughed and put the application in a different cabinet. "Oh by the way, when does your school start? Cuz after then I can start scheduling you based on your school  schedule."

"Oh crap." Adalynn covered her face with her hands. "I completely forgot about school. It starts a week from today." It was Saturday that day. She groaned, "I need to stock up my fridge and get shit ready."

"Well I can schedule you to work tomorrow, and payday is on Tuesday. So you'll have some money to get stuff done and what-not. But for now..." She looked at the clock before looking up at the door where a girl was walking in with a Starbucks apron. "My shift is over. So  I believe we should go have a Lilo and Stitch marathon at my flat."
