New Beginnings

Chapter 31

I walk inside and see Raine smiling an innocent smile next to my broken vase.
"Really?" She giggles and runs away. I get the broom and clean it up. I take Raine into my room. I put all her toys in her box in the corner of my room earlier. She struggles to get down then waddles to her toys.

I walk around with Raine. She won't quit crying. I pace through the house talking to her. I cradle her and kiss her. I softly being to sing to her. Raine starts to get droopy eyes. When she's finally asleep I lay her in our bed. I walk downstairs and sit next to Danny on our couch. I lean my head on his shoulder and he wraps his arm and kisses the top of my head.
"I love you baby."
"I love you too Danny" He gives me a quick kiss and we continue to watch the Murder Mystery channel.

I wake up to little hands hitting my face.
"Nana! Bites!" I groan and sit up. I feel nauseous. I get up and run to the bathroom and vomit. Once finished I get up and rinse out my mouth and brush my teeth. Raine looks at me funny. She tilts her head and gives me a confused glare. I laugh and pick her up.
"Bite bite bite." She sings while I walk downstairs. Oh lord I need a Pepperoni roll or Caramel. I go to the storage room and pull out the high chair and Raine start trying to get out of my arms while I pull.
"Raine stop it hunny before I end up dropping you." I almost drop her and I grab her by the waist and go to my knees to save her from hitting the linoleum. Oh god, I can't have a toddler running around I can barely take care of Raine what am I gonna do with another baby? FUCK! I maneuver my way and put her in the highchair. I sigh, out of breath. I can't. I make her a bowl of cereal and put it on the tray she smiles and makes a face at me. I make one back and she cackles. I hear Danny walking down the stairs he looks me up and down with a smirk but his smile quickly fades.
"Jess what the hell happened to your knees?"
"I saved Rainie over there from knocking her brains out because she wouldn't quick squirming." Raine looks with wide eyes.
"Nuh uh." She says and giggles.
"Yes huh." I say and stick my tongue out at her. She laughs and throws her spoon in the floor.
"Done." She makes grabby hands at me and I go over and pick her up.
"I can't wait till your mommy and daddy come get you! No I can't." I say tickling her. Danny laughs at me. I can't think of how we're gonna do this, but I know we can and will for this baby's sake. Oh god why couldn't I have just kept my legs spread.
