My mum releases a small cry of sadness and fear, then sits on the couch with her hands in her face.
My dad in the meantime has a shocked face, and slowly drags a chair towards him and sits on it.
And I'm just here standing in my dragon form in the middle of the room.
"I could've killed you..." my dad cries softly.
It's then when I realise the damage I did.
I slowly shift back and walk over to my Dad. I try to hug him, but he's still a bit too distressed.
So I walk over to my mum who accepts the hug.
"Why?" She asks.
"I wanted to stay, but I couldn't. Something inside of me forced me to go." I tell her.
"Hey!" The dragon complains.
"I could've killed you..." My dad continues to say.
"But you didn't, did you?" I tell him, pulling away from my mum and walking to my dad.
"But I could've." My dad argues.
"When did this happen to you?" My mum asks.
"It happened on new years." I tell her.
"And you didn't say anything?" She asks.
"I tried, but you didn't pay attention."
"And who did it to you?"
"The old man, by accident."
"I'll kill him." My dad says.
"Don't, it was an accident. He didn't know that some dragon blood got into my drink." I say.
"Dragon blood?" My mum asks.
"Can turn one into a dragon." I tell her.
"And you didn't know?" My dad asks.
"As I said it was an accident. A few drops in the cranberry juice, that's all it took." I say.
"And what was he doing with dragon blood?" My dad continues.
"He is a dragon, and had a cut at that specific time." I tell him.
"Where have you been living for the past two months?" My mum asks.
"Oh in a cave I made on a cliff face in Hell's Gate." I reply.
"And food? Water?" My dad asks.
"A small river into the cave provides water, there is zebra and antelope for meat, and I have a small farm in the cave." I tell them.
"Wait! You eat zebra and antelope?" My mum asks.
"Yes. I help keep the population under control. But then again the humans are starting too wonder..." I confirm.
"The humans? You mean us? Like you aren't human." My dad says.
"I accepted the change a long time ago." I say.

For the first time in ages I am offered a bed. I agree not to make my parents sad or anything but I'll be honest with you.
The bed is just too uncomfortable. I twist and turn and eventually give up, getting on the floor of my former bedroom and shifting. I sleep.

I run for my life as the nuclear missile gets closer and closer to the ground. I just need to make it to the bunker. But then a giant meteor lands in front of me and sends my flying back. I shift and start to fly away, but then a lightning bolt strikes me on the back. I roar in pain and fall to the ground. I can't move and I see the nuclear weapon come closer and closer to the ground. Then everything blows up.

I wake up and look around me in fright, but nothing bad happened.
"It was just a dream." I sigh in relief.
"It was just a dream."

This book is no longer on hold! Woohoo!
I have written six more chapters and I feel confident enough to continue writing. Danger in the Sanctuary is being scrapped for a while because I have found it difficult digitalising it.
I am also publishing my book The Triple X no longer alone. It is the longest book I have written on wattpad boasting 22 parts. Let's see if this book can beat that. 😀
Peace!
