Before I start this chapter, I have one question. How many of you guys are Harry Potter fans? If you are, please tell me!
"Hey, Rui." Sakura poked her older bother in the forehead. "What would you do if the moon was falling?"
Rui glanced down at the pink haired girl that had been following him all day. "I dunno, stop it I guess. Why?"
"Because Kakashi-sensei just told me that the moon was going to crash into the surface of the earth in the next few day and that Hinata's sister was kidnapped." Sakura smiled at Rui, softening the blow.
Rui stopped in his tracks, the grocery bags that were hanging on her arm, swinging back and forth. "Wait. What?"
"The moon is falling. The world is going to end by the end of this week. And Hinata's sister was kidnapped."
Rui finally turned to fully face his sister. "You're serious?"Sakura's cheery smile had vanished and replaced by a solemn expression. "Oh God. I need to go propose to Lihn."
Before Rui could turn and run, Sakura caught his arm. "No. You can't. This is classified information, and anyways, you won't have time. You're coming with me. We're going to save the world! Plus, you've only been dating her for two years. Don't you think it's too soon?" Her smile had returned, as she dragged a struggling Rui down to his apartment and packed his bags against his will and then dragged him to the village gates. "We're ready!" Sakura announced to the group gathered.
The team that had Kakashi had gathered was pretty much as strong as you could get. It consisted of Shikamaru (the brains), Hinata (the sight), Sai (the transport), Naruto (the strength), Sakura (the Masked Cherry Blossom), and Rui (the... older brother of the Masked Cherry Blossom).
"Where are we going and when are we coming back?" Rui whined as Sakura pulled him by his backpack strap through the gates and out of the village. "Lihn hates it when I leave for missions without telling her. She's gonna murder me." He groaned.
"I dunno." Sakura shrugged as she continued to pulled him and lead him onto the back of a large bird that Sai had created. "But don't worry, little sis will bail you out. Lihn is a very reasonable person and I'm sure that if I explain the situation to her, everything will be just fine." Rui knew that Sakura had a point there. She and Lihn got along freakishly well.
Over the past two years, Rui had been dividing his time between working for Lihn's father in his restaurant, going on missions, dating Lihn, and training with Sakura. He also went for a drink with Naruto and Sasuke every once in a while. The two had warmed up to him in the past year.
Rui sat down on the back and white bird, settling right behind Sakura, wrapping his arms around her waist as massive wings began to flap. Naruto glared at him. Ok, maybe they hadn't warmed up that much, but there had still been quite a few improvements.
Sakura leaned back into Rui's chest as the the crisp air caused her short hair to whip around her. "I spy with my little eye..." She looked around, "Something green."
Rui glanced down at the forest of green below them. "Is it a tree?"
"Yes, but which one?" She inquired.
Sakura felt Rui's chest vibrate with his deep, throaty laugh. "You can be such a kid sometimes." He paused. "Actually, there's something I've wanted to ask you about. I was looking though a few old pictures of everyone from right after the war, and everyone's changed so much over these past two years. They've gotten older. Everyone but you." Rui leaded over her shoulder and took a good look at Sakura. She stared right back. "Naruto's gotten a little taller and his face has matured, looking more like an adult rather than a teenager. Sasuke's grown out his hair and has gone through similar changes as Naruto. Even I've changed!" He rubbed the neat and short beard he had allowed to appear on his face. "But you look the exact same as you did when you were sixteen, and you're turning twenty next month. And I was looking at the pictures from before the Queen passed away to after and you suddenly got ridiculously beautiful between those two time periods. I mean, you were pretty before, but now... I didn't notice it when you were in a coma since I was mainly focused on how pale you looked, and I barely paid attention to it when Pein attack the village, and after the war, I noticed it but didn't question it."
Sakura touched her face, a far away looked making it's way into her eyes. "It's because of the necklace." Sakura pulled out the crystal from under her shirt and explained what the Queen had told her that day. About how it had kept her alive and how old the Queen really was when she died. "I haven't quite figured out how it works, but I think that I'm supposed to carry on the legacy of the Masks." She tapped the Mask that was strapped to her hip. "And I think I'm supposed to live as long as it takes in order to find a worthy successor. I'm not sure why the necklace makes the wearer more attractive though. Maybe the one who had made it wanted to be more beautiful?"
Sakura stared into his icy blue eyes as Rui blinked a few times. "So you're immortal?"
"Not really, but I'll stay like this," She gestured to her face, "until I pass this necklace on to someone, and the Queen was about three hundred and seven when she finally got the chance to pass it on to me."
Rui froze, staring at Sakura in shock, but soon leaned back. "What about the diamond on you forehead? Why doesn't look like it's supposed to?"
"You're full of questions today, aren't you?" Sakura sighed, staring down at the forest below them. "I truthfully have no idea why my seal looks different. I heard that normally people don't meditate as much as I did in order to unlock it. Or maybe it's because of the necklace again. Take your guess. I'm not complaining though. A few of the sensory ninja that I've met say that my seal seems to be even stronger than Tsunade's, but not by a lot. Gosh, what's with the interrogation?"
"Nothing." Rui mumbled, resting his chin on Sakura's head. "Just wondering."
Sakura's heart burned with a rare feeling. The feeling of pure love towards her dear brother. If she could, she would've stayed like that forever. But life doesn't always work that way since, at that very moment, Sakura heard Hinata say something about a glowing spring, and they descended towards a gaping cave in the side of the mountain.
I feel like my chapters are steadily getting longer and longer. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but still, 1106 words.
Anyways, this chapter is a request I got from @Infinitys_Clouds and it's basically going to be focusing on The Last: Naruto and this story line will probably continue for (I'm guessing) two or three chapters. If you haven't watched the movie, then it's fine, you can still read the chapter and understand it for the most part, since I'm changing a lot of the original plot.
Also, big thank you to @Infinitys_Clouds for coming up with this whole idea. Love it~
