Ever since Toby arrived back home in DC he's been different more protective of me. He hasn't really been the same since he came back from that case. "Toby can we talk?" I ask him standing there looking at him "Yeah sure" He shrugs putting his hands in the pockets of his jeans. "What happened when you we're working on that case?" I ask him softly "I told you Spencer we found them gained all the evidence and put them away" He says looking at me with a sad expression "What else happened? Come on Toby I know you and I know that something happened" He sighs running a hand through his hair before sighing and beginning to speak again. "This was a couple of days before I arrived home and we needed a couple of other people that were apart of the scandal. We'd tracked them down and busted them trying to leave town they knew we were onto them. Anyway one of the Men Lucas had his wife and daughter with him" He gulps his eyes filling with unshed tears "He had a gun in his hand and was coming forward at us with the gun. He kept yelling at us telling us to leave him and his family alone even though he knew we couldn't do that. And that's when he shot one of the officers Lucas's family rushed out of the car as Lucas went to get back into the car. Only thing was when everyone was shooting at the car trying to hit Lucas they shot his daughter" One tear rolls down his cheek as he speaks his voice quiet and soft "I did my best to save her I really did try to save her but it was too late. She died in my arms" He extends out a hand that I quickly grab and he pulls me into his embrace as he cries. I wrap my arms around his neck I hold him tightly as he cries "It wasn't your fault Toby it wasn't your fault"

"Leave me and my family alone!" Lucas shouts pure rage surging through his body "I said back up!" He shouts at before pulling the trigger at one of the officers sending a bullet right into his chest. His eyes widen in shock as the police officer falls to the ground blood rushing down his chest and onto the ground. Lucas rushers back to the truck and that's when Everyone starts shooting at him before his family escapes the car. "No!" I shout as I see Lucas's young daughter fall onto the ground facing me "No!" Her mother screams before she is forced onto the ground and cuffed "Sweetheart stay with me" I coo wiping her tears as I hold her in my arms pressing my hands onto her wound attempting to stop the bleeding. "What's going to happen to me?" She asks her head leaning backwards as tears slide down her cheeks "Hey hey you stay awake keep those eyes on me" I plead resting my hand on her small neck bringing her face back to look at me "Call an ambulance!" I shout at them as they quickly call for the ambulance "Hey what's your name?" I ask looking into her blue eyes "L-Lucy" She stutters her eyes rolling to the back of her head "Hey hey sweetheart keep your eyes on me" I coo but she's gone, She's gone

"Toby hey hey" Spencer's voice brings me back to reality as I look at her now standing in front of me "You okay?" She asks cupping my cheek I close my eyes savouring her soft sweet touch "I love you so much" I rest my hands on her waist kissing her softly "You're everything to me" She smiles blushing "I love you too" This girl is my whole entire world She means everything to me. "Are you okay?" She asks in a more serious tone now cupping my cheek pressing her lips to my forehead "I can't get her face out of my head, Everytime I close my eyes I see her dead body" She sighs looking at me apologetic "It wasn't you're fault Toby please try to understand that" I move past her putting on my jacket "And where do you think you're going?" She asks me crossing her arms over her chest "I'm going out for a while I really need to be alone" She looks at me with a frown "You need to let this go it wasn't your fault she didn't die on your watch. You didn't kill that little girl you did everything you could to save her" I shake my head letting my tears fall with my back turned to her "I'm a different man now I'm not the same man you fell in love with" I hear her take a deep intake of breath before exhaling again "Don't ever say that, You're still the same man I love and will always love" I open the door knob refusing to look back "I'm not the same man" I repeat walking out not looking back.
