Ziathe POV
"Ziathe" a voice startled me awake and I jumped as a hand caressed my cheek.
"What." I asked bluntly when I realised who it was and he frowned.
"You're still a lot of pain..." he said and I huffed.
"I'm fine" I brushed him off but stayed still in the bed.
"Then why aren't you being your usual self and moving away?" he asked sceptically and I glared at him.
I stayed silent and he sighed after a few minutes.
"Look, Ziathe. You said that you've seen bears before the other day, right?" he asked and I blinked at him.
What the fuck?
"Why are you asking?" I replied and he sighed again before sitting down on the bed next to me.
"Well, I believe you now"
"Oh?" I said with a flat expression and he gave me a crooked smile.
"There may have been a group of 'large bears' that took out a minor pack a few hundred miles away, to the west, is that were you saw them?" he asked and I rolled my eyes.
"I don't know if it was to the west, I don't navigate on where i am according to your castle" I said and he huffed.
"Okay, but you did see large bears didn't you?"
"Bear, not bears"
"...right. Well was there anything about that bear that would be considered useful information?" he asked and I stared blankly at him for a few minutes.
"PLEASE"
"Um, they are intelligent, definitely. It watched me and my pack calmly when it noticed us." I eventually gave in to his pleading look and he frowned.
"Shit...so they attacked that pack on purpose? This is problematic..."
"Hey, maybe they're were-bears" I smirked to myself in amusement but he just glared at me.
"What? You've got to admit the name has a ring to it"
"Ziathe this isn't funny, a whole pack was killed. Stop being such a sociopath" he complained and I rolled my eyes.
"I can't believe you don't know about them already. Us rogues always had run ins with them. They were never too much of a problem. You can only tell the difference from normal bears because they are bigger. We just assumed it was natural selection making bears more intelligent and bigger" I explained and he sighed.
"So, only slightly intelligent?"
"How can I tell how intelligent something is by looking at it? I don't know, but it wasn't running on instincts i can tell you that" I frowned at his persistent questioning before laying my head flat on the pillow again and staring off into the distance.
He then stayed silent for a few minutes before suddenly grabbing my light fabric trousers and pulling them down.
"WHOAH EXCUSE ME" I exclaimed as I grabbed his wrist but he ignored me and stared at my thigh.
He then ran his other hand over the light scars left there in confusion.
"I don't understand..." he commented and I glared at him.
