⌠ 1 ⌡

The first rain since the festival.

I sit and watch.

Clouds blanketing the sky,

storm pounding at the windows.

A haze of fog.

A bright flash.

Jagged. Sharp.

A tree branch suspended in air.

Then the loud crack.

My desk rattles.

After a while,

the rain slows.

Dripping,

droplets,

trailing down glass,

the sound,

echoing

through

indoor

silence.

I breathe some words.

Fogs the window.

Can't hear myself.

My voice seems to float

in the emptiness.

Why now?

It was too late.

I look at

her umbrella

by my desk.

Unused.

Shadows trail my room.

The quiet is stifling.

I'm reminded once again.

That no one needs me.

...

Takanashi.

She needed me.

You're kinda interesting.

The air would be humid tomorrow.

Moisture clinging.

Puddles on the road.

Leftover rain dripping from rooftops.

Maybe I should bring an umbrella.

Maybe I should look for her again.

Maybe I should let her...

help me.
