⌠ 1 ⌡

The cherry blossoms are beautiful.

They fall,

twirling down like ribbons,

landing softly.

But you can still hear the sound.

The tree is in bloom.

Proof that time has passed.

The grass grows wild and tall,

bending in wind.

Wildflowers dotting the canvas of green

like dots of paint.

It still rains sometimes,

but the rain seems lighter.

So does the sky,

even when clouds

veil the sun.

The rain drips in melody

drip

        drip

                 drip

and the fogged club room windows,

so clouded

you could almost think

there's a different world

behind them.

Why is everything so beautiful?

Why does it always...

hurt a little,

knowing...

It can't stay this way forever?

It's been months since then.

It's almost graduation.

Almost my third year.

Things have changed.

⌠ 2 ⌡

It's humid.

My skin clings to my clothes.

My hair already sticking to my forehead.

The room,

like it's stuck in time.

Dust gathering in the corners.

Same old smell.

The rusty heater,

off now.

But somehow still warm.

I lie on the table,

studying the paint cracks
