"Look Darren I have to go. I'm not done packing yet." I pause. "Yeah, I love you too." the words escape my lips rather faint and soft, almost non existent. Since I left, Darren and I agreed that we would keep seeing each other. Although I wasn't too sure of my decision, I just let it happen. Darren was a sense of home and I was a little afraid to leave that behind. We had a promise to take turns visiting each other at least once a month.
"Who are you?"
Shocked, I spin around and drop my phone, the back pops off and the battery skids quickly across the wooden floor.
"Damn it." I mutter as I look up.
"Oh you must be my roommate, I'm Allie"
I look across the room, my phone lay in front of my feet, my battery still on the ground. For some reason, I was relieved I dropped it. If not, I would have stayed on that phone longer than desired. I look back up at the girl standing in front of me. She was a couple of inches taller than I was. She had black hair with blue highlights that complimented her blue-ish green eyes, she was a natural almost perfect beach-tan that every girl strives for. She looked like the type of girl you would see in a magazine and wonder why you could never look the way she did.
"Savannah." I extend my hand to be polite.
She looks a little confused but she takes my hand and shakes it. "I'm sorry about your phone." She stated nodding her head towards my phone on the floor just before our feet.
I look at her outfit and felt almost immediately jealous. She had a teal crop top on with white high wasted shorts, her sandy wedges with black straps seemed to harmonize her whole look.
"No, no." a chuckle leaves my mouth. "I'm glad it dropped." I glance down at my phone that lay before my feet, screen down.
Allie picks it up, taking it in her hand. She looks directly at the screen and gasps. "Uh oh Savannah."
"What?!"
"According to your phone screen, it looks like we're going to be really good friends." A grin spreads across her face as she hands me my phone and walks over to give me the back and battery of my phone. "See, if your screen had shattered, I don't think I would be able to show my face again."
We both began to laugh, my laughter was probably a little bit more nervous than hers.
"So who was that on the phone?"
"Ha. No one." I walk back over to my bed unpacking my clothes putting them in the drawer beside my bed. I pick up a frilly white summer top and fold it. I look up at the different shelves I might put it, mentally making a decision.
"No one sounded like they didn't want you to get off the phone. Must be pretty popular."
"How much did you hear?"
