Savannah's POV

"Are you sure Savannah?"

That was the concerned voice that belonged to my over protective dad leaning on the drivers side window of Lacey's car.

"Dad, I'll be fine. Besides, do you really want Lacey and I in a car together for 33 hours?"

"I told you I would take you. It would be nice to see my baby girl walk on the grounds of her dream college."

I nervously chuckle and look down at my wrist. The bracelet that mom gave me was sparkling from the suns glow. Truth be told, I'd love dad to go but I wouldn't want him to get super sad in the process. My decision was the best for the both of us.

"Look dad, I made up my mind, and it would suck to have to cancel a flight by now. I appreciate it and I love you."

"I love you too baby girl." His wrinkle on his forehead looks more prominent than usual. I know it's hard for him.

"Oh crap!" Out of all the excitement I almost forgot to tell Darren goodbye. I fling the car door open and run across the street.

"Darren." I hear both Lacey and my dad say simultaneously before I find myself on the front porch of Darren's house.

Knock knock knock knock knock knock knock knock knock

"Savannah!" On the other side of the door stood Darren moms before me. She had a plump figure and rosy cheeks and the ends of her short black hair curled naturally. With the short time it happened, It was almost crazy to think how much weight she had put on since the divorce. As weird as it sounds, Darren being my boyfriend at all, she was the mom I never had growing up.

"Hey is Darren home?"

"I'm right here." Darren pops up behind his mother and she gives him space to walk out of the door. He comes at me with a giant hug.

"Moving day, yeah?"

"Yeah I--"

"Save it, Savannah." He puts his hands on either sides of my cheeks and give me a long kiss. It felt weird kissing him in front of his mother and my family watching from the car, but I just let it happen. This could be the last time I see him in awhile and I wasn't ready to pass it up.

"Hey lovebirds, it's time to go!" Lacey drove up to Darrens drive way. "We're going to be late."

"I didn't realize we were putting on a show." I chuckle, embarrassingly wiping my lips from his kiss.

"Hey anymore of that and you can walk your little butt to the airport." Lacey teased.

"Facetime me when you get settled in" Was the last words I heard from Darren's mouth before Lacey started up the car and pulled out of his driveway.

                                                                                                  ✿

The flight from Kentucky to California was only approximately four hours. However, with the babies crying and the embarrassing event from earlier, it seems to be dragging on.

"Whatcha writin?" I feel a little finger tap on my arm as I look next to me. It was a little girl who appeared to be 7 years old.

"Oh just a story." I give her a polite smile and return back to my notebook.

"Like Snow White?"

I chuckle as I look back at her. Her big blue eyes never stopped gazing at me. She looked at me as if I was her big sister that she looked up to,

"No sweetie, it's a little more complicated than that."

"Well how complicated could it be?"

I try to hold myself from laughing at her almost butchering the word "complicated".

"What's your name?" She was clearly intrigued by my presence.

"Savannah."

"My name is Hannah! Do you know what that means?"

"What does that mean?"

"It means that we're twins! Because our names are so close, isn't that cool?"

"That's awesome!"

"So back to business, why can't you tell me about that story?"

I sigh and close my eyes for a second. "How about this? I tell you an even cooler better story?"

"Alright! But it better have Snow White in it!"

I chuckle and suddenly I get the impulse to look behind me, the little girls mother was sitting in a seat a couple of rows over. She smiles and waves mouthing the words "thank you." as to imply she knew her daughter was a handful. I smile and wave back mouthing the words "no problem."
