I examine the woman in the mirror that had curly extensions clipped to the ends of her shoulder length hair. Her shimmery foundation and highlighter made her look refreshed and ready for a night out. Me. It was me. It was almost hard to recognize the woman staring back at me.

"You look fine, Savannah." Allie was trying to reassure me as I try to smooth out my tight black skirt that felt weird over my legs. The black and white long sleeve I wore hugged tightly on my small torso. It felt weird. The entire outfit felt too tight and something I was not used to.

Looking the mirror, I focus my gaze on Allie trying to reassure me. "Maybe we can find something else?" I tried,  watching her disapproving reflection.

"And wear sweatpants? No. This guy is loaded so he's probably going to take you out for a nice dinner.  Anything less than designer and you're not getting in."

"Maybe I can just cancel." With the butterflies floating around in my stomach it seemed like the perfect option at this point. James could surely find someone else, right?

"No you need to bring me back fancy dinner leftovers!" Allie pleaded. I smiled, somehow that comment put me in an easier mood.

"I can do this." I nod as I grab my purse and clench on the doorknob leading outside of our dorm room.

"You damn right. Remember, order the Alfredo!" Allie calls after me.

Nervously grabbing onto my purse, I walked into the lightly dimmed restaurant. This place was gigantic filled with people around every corner. Some were here for business, others anniversary dates.

" Can I help you?" An Italian waiter with shoulder length hair notices my hand clench onto my purse tightly. I quickly let go and try to remain calm. I didn't feel like I fit in too well here and maybe he was on to me.

"Savannah." My head pans over to see James at a table next to a wide window over looking the ocean.

"That's my date." I run across the restaurant to Jame quickly, ditching anything the waiter would have said to me.

"You look good." I sit down at the chair across from James. It was weird seeing James in a black tuxedo but he pulled it off perfectly. His blonde hair slicked back was different but completed the whole look.

"Thank you. You're looking beautiful." I wanted to believe the words coming out of his mouth were genuine, but something told me differently. Shaking it off, I look into the menu remembering the Alfredo Allie wanted.

I peer across the table at James. He picks up the menu for a couple of seconds and then quickly places it down. His gaze doesn't look up at me, instead he stare into the white table cloth on the table. The same waiter from before comes to our table. "What can I get the lovely couple today?" The way his tone changed when he figured I had money, or was with someone who had it sickened me.
