“Wake up, were going to Canada.”

I tried to search for the covers that were ripped off my body but couldn’t find them so I just curled into a ball, trying to keep warm. I groaned and covered my face with a pillow, trying to fall back asleep. The person ripped the pillow out of my grasp and I scowled at them.

“Go away.”

“Not until you get up. Come on Tess! It will be fun. A whole day of just you and me, no parties, no phone calls, none of my friends interrupting, just us.”

I smiled and sat up, stretching.

“Give me an hour.”

He laughed and walked out of the room. A whole day of me and Austin, how could I possibly say no to that?

I quickly hopped in the shower and did all that fun stuff. I got out and dried off, quickly running a brush through my hair. I pulled on a pair of leggings and a baggy sweater, knowing how cold it was outside. I brushed my teeth and slipped my thumb and pinky rings on. I messed around with my hair for a bit before just putting it in a messy side braid. I slid on my glasses, since I was too tired to put my contacts in. My glasses were just all black but they were ray bans so I guess they were “in style” you could say.

I smiled at myself in the mirror, content with my look before grabbing my phone and walking downstairs.

“You ready Tess?”

I nodded and walked into the kitchen, checking my phone on the way. I only had gotten one text since I had last checked my phone and it was of course from Niall.

I finally decided to put his contact in as Ni with the little four leaf clover emoji, because not only was he Irish but he was my four leaf clover, hard to find, but lucky to have.

I looked at his text and a smile instantly made its way across my face.

Good morning gorgeous. Hope you slept well. We have a concert again tonight but hopefully we’ll be able to chat before then. Xx

I responded with a simple good morning and can’t wait to talk to you later.

“Ready hoe?”

“After you, faggot.”

I motioned towards the door and he laughed, walking out in front of me. We climbed in his truck and he instantly looked over at me smiling.

“Ready to show me that song you found?”

A smile found its way across my face and I plugged my phone into his car, putting on the song I found. A few seconds later Sam Adams’ voice filled his truck.

“It’s called All Night Longer. It’s literally been stuck in my head since I first heard it.”

He bobbed his head along with the beat and backed out of the driveway.

“I like it. Remind me to get it when we get home.”

I nodded and smiled at him, kicking back and putting my feet up on the dash. The next hour was filled with me and him singing terribly at the top of our lungs to a bunch of songs on my phone.

Its moments like this that I love my family. It makes me forget about the trauma in my family and even my cousin’s snide remarks don’t matter to me. All that matters is being carefree and spending time with the only guy that will always be there for me, my brother.

One minute I’m singing at the top of my lungs and the next the music is stopping and my ringtone booms throughout the car. I shot Austin an apologetic smile and he laughed rolling his eyes.

“Answer it, I don’t mind. We’re just in the car.”

I nodded and slid the answer button, Niall’s face popping up on the screen.

“Hey, Beautiful.”

I blushed and looked over at Austin, knowing he had heard Niall’s greeting. He had a huge smile on his face and looked over at me, sending me a wink. I laughed and rolled my eyes, averting my attention back to Niall.

“Hey! Um listen I’m spending the day with Austin and we don’t really get a lot of time, just the two of us so I’ll talk to you later, okay? Maybe after your concert?”

A look crossed over his face but I couldn’t quite tell what it was.

“Um, Austin?”

I looked at him and couldn’t help but laugh.

“Oh my god, you’re so jealous!”

He blushed and scratched the back of his neck.

“No I’m not, I’m just wondering who he is. You never mentioned you had a boyfriend?”

I laughed again and pulled a face. I looked over at Austin to see he had the same facial expression as me, disgusted.

“Ew gross, Austin’s my brother and don’t worry I think you being jealous is cute.”

He blushed again and looked up at me.

“Sorry about that, I didn’t know. That was probably awkward for both of you. Uh, so is it too nosy of me to ask what you’re doing today?”

I shook my head and laughed.

“Not at all, actually we’re going to Canada to chill since Detroit is too ghetto.”

I laughed at the fact that Niall hated Detroit as well. He scrunched up his nose in disgust with me mentioning it but then his eyes widened.

“Wait, where in Canada?”

I looked over at Austin and he answered for me.

“Toronto.”

Niall’s eyes grew even wider and he let out a little squeal.

“Tell me you did not just squeal, oh my goodness.”

I shook my head and groaned but laughed along when I heard Niall’s laugh radiate from my phone.

“You would never guess where I am right now.”

My smile grew wide but then it faltered.

“I’d actually love to see you Ni but today was supposed to be just me and Austin…”

Austin laughed and looked over at me.

“You’re joking right. Tess, we see each other every day and I know we’re not as close as we used to be but seeing as the fact I’ve never seen this kid before, you see him less than you see me.”

“Really? You wouldn’t mind hanging out with him tonight?”

Austin shook his head and laughed.

“Not at all, if anything I’d like to meet the guy who my little sister is falling head over heels for. I’ll set him straight.”

I rolled my eyes and looked over at Niall who had the biggest smile on his face.

“No matter how intimidating your brother just sounded about setting me straight tonight, I’m too excited to see you to even care. Um, come to the venue and I’ll tell the box office to leave two backstage passes for you. Just tell him your name and you should be all set. If there’s any trouble just call me and I’ll come get you. Um, I’ll text you the name of the venue and just make sure you’re here before 7:30.”

I agreed and we said our goodbyes before hanging up.

“Why are we going to a concert venue? Please tell me he’s not famous.”

I looked over at my brother and shrugged.

“Sorry, can’t help it if the whole female population loves him.”

He laughed and started heading to the direction of the venue.

“We’ll go there now so we can hang out with them before the concert, okay?”

I nodded and turned the music back up, looking over at Austin winking. He looked over at me and laughed before joining in on my obnoxious singing. Let’s just hope I keep my cool tonight and don’t flip shit seeing as I’ll be meeting One Direction.
