Soulmate!au Where you have a timer on your left wrist that counts down to when you meet your soulmate

((WARNING; MENTIONS OF MENTAL ILLNESSES. NOTHING TOO BAD, BUT STILL.))

Yuri Plisetsky thought that he'd never find his soulmate, despite the ticking of the clock on his wrist. He thought his attitude would push them away. And, as the days wore on to weeks, then years, until he was 20, it felt like he'd never find them anyway.

Until a week ago, when it suddenly changed. 7 Days, 0 hours, 06 minutes was what it read on August 9.

To say he was shocked was an understatement. Just an hour ago, when he was making his was to the rink, it read 2 years, 04 months, 09 days, 21 hours, 40 minutes. What could have changed since then?

He walked into the rink, only to be teased by Mila.

"Yuri!" She gasped, "Your timer! You lucky dog!" She laughed, "You're going to meet them soon!"

He froze. That was his problem, "Shut up, you old hag!" He exclaimed.

"Hey, hey! No need for that! I'm just -" he cut her off.

"Three years older, I got it." He grumbled.

"In any case, you should go to Yakov and Lilia. They need to see you." She smiled, walking off the ice, checking her own clock, which read 04 years, 10 months, 02 weeks, 06 Days, 59 minutes, and sighed. She desperately wanted to meet her soulmate. But, these clocks never lie.

Changing time like it did on Yuri only happened on two occasions. The first was the worst. It wouldn't let out a ring, but the clock would essentially start stinging and burning, as if on fire, if your soulmate died. The second was if, like Yuri's did, the gods intervened, deciding that you needed to meet sooner for whatever reason.

The second was much more rare, and it legitimately worried Yuri. He was told that - before his parents died - theirs changed because his mother was reaching her limit on child bearing years. And low and behold, after he was born, she went sterile.

A week later, [Name] looked at her clock. It read 15 minutes, 0 seconds. In exactly that time, the rink opened for all the skaters. She was so worried. At the front, she was going over the type of composition that Yakov wanted.

"Yes sir, and what kind of song? Slow, fast? Romantic? Up beat?" She was also vigorously taking notes.

Yakov laughed, "The one I'm wanting this done for should probably choose. He has a way of... deviating from what is choreographed."

[Name] nodded. She looked up and met eyes with a boy - no he was a man now - that she'd had a crush on for a long time.

Yuri looked into her eyes, and his eyes widened. He knew of her. She's been composing music for many skaters since she was a young girl of 16. One year after his senior debut.

Both prodigies looked into each other's eyes, awestruck, and a loud beeeeeeep resounded in the area.

"Bozhe moy!" [1] Yakov exclaimed, "Soulmates!"
