Leo de la Iglesia had been dating [Full Name], a girl from his university, for about a year. She was studying Nursing, and had run into him (quite literally) in the hallway of the English building.
For him, it was love at first sight. He asked her to dinner that night, and she blushed. This just made her more cute to him.
He also quickly learned that she was what she called Meme Trash as well.
It would be the middle of classes when he'd get them. For example, in the middle of his freshman English Comp. I class, and he'd get a text seeing stuff like this...

It always cracked him up.
"Mr. de la Iglesia. Would you mind?" The professor would ask.
"Yes sir." He'd then quickly text back.
Probably both...?
It was really bad that her professor was trying to relate but failing. She was in her second year of Nursing. It could effect her out come on the final bar exam.
But alas, Summer vacation came, and it was time for her birthday. It was June 30, and he decided that it was time to pop the question. They'd been dating since he was 18 and she 20. They lived together during his off season, but still near the rink. She had seen him skate rink side at Skate America, where he took gold. She had seen him on TV (for it was still school time) during the China Cup, where he didn't place. It was time.
They were currently cuddled up together, when he leaned down into her ear, and whispered "Te Amo, [Name]."
[Name] blushed. He'd only ever used Te quiero [1] before. "Te Amo, Leo." She smiled, kissing him.
But then, he got off the bed, grabbing a small box, and [Name] innately knew, and started squealing quietly.
"[Full name], you have been the only girl to ever understand me fully. I only ever want to be with you. There's a reason I said Te Amo, and I'm sure you now understand why." He opened the box, which held a diamond on a band of gold, "Will you marry me?"
She was crying at this point, "Yes! Of course, Leo!"
Best. Birthday. Ever. She thought as she watched him put it on and kiss her hand.
"This has definitely been the best birthday." She told him.
He took a picture of the ring, with their hands intertwined, and posted it to Instagram.
They both called their parents, [Name]'s were over the moon. Her mom congratulating her, and telling her that they'd have to visit sometime before the wedding.
