"You seem quite shy but you're oh-so cute, and I'm the girl that would love to be yours if you'd ask me to, so, give me a chance, I'll try to hold your hand. I swear I'll never let go just let me know if you'll be my man."
- Plug In Stereo feat. Cady Groves, "Oh Darling"
Seung-gil Lee had been enamored with the American skater, [Full Name] since he saw her in the junior division. Little did he know, she liked him, too.
However, he gave up hope on meeting her. At 15, she was surrounded by guys. He had many fangirls; but at 16, he was dating a girl from his school, A-Yeong Kim. He was very happy... Until they were 16. After two years of dating, she randomly broke up with him.
"Seung-gil... I'm sorry, you're just too much of an airhead, you're really unfashionable, and frankly, you're really shy. I can't be in a relationship like that."
And while he wasn't in love with her, her words hurt. Very deeply.
He was walking around the hotel that he was staying at a few weeks later, when his breath hitched. The girl he'd been enamored with as a younger boy was sniffling, right before the competition. He may be an airhead, but he was in tune with her emotions. Something like he could trust her.
"Annyeong-haseyo." However, he caught himself and corrected, "Hello." And then sat down beside her, "I'm Seung-gil Lee... You're [Full Name]?"
She sniffed, "Yeah."
"May I ask what's wrong?" He was rather stoic, and his voice was strong, yet soft. A weird combination.
"Well, m-my - I guess ex, now - boyfriend broke up with me. He was cheating on me with a girl he met studying abroad, A-Yeong Kim." She looked down, "Said I was too popular. And he fell in love with her."
Seung-gil, although apprehensive, put an arm around her, "That's my ex. Your ex... His name is Nathan Thompson, yes?"
"Yeah." She giggled a little, "What a weird coincidence." She looked at this boy, "Thanks. You're the only one besides my roommate to ask."
"Who are you rooming with?" He asked.
"Sara Crispino. She's really sweet. I've been friends with her for god knows how long."
Seung-gil smiled at her.
It was the start of a beautiful relationship.
He asked her out not too long later, and after dating for a year (right after the Grand Prix finals, actually), she moved to South Korea to live with him. She also transfered coaches, to train in South Korea with him.
[Name] never minded his airheaded-ness. He was actually very in tune with her feelings, as she was with him. But... He was becoming distant. Was he... Getting bored of her? Did he not love her?
Impossible... She thought, I'm sure if I ask there'll be good reason behind it.
She and Seung-gil had been an item and living together long enough to be open and know each other inside and out.
Seung-gil, however, was worried that she, too, would break up with him on their second anniversary. He knew he loved her, and she loved him. But, there was a reason that he was apprehensive about girls.
