You guys are so awesome! I wanted to say thank you for the reads!!! I know it's not that much to some, but this is just amazing to me!

So, here's a little snippet as to why it means so much...

I started writing Fanfiction when I was 14. My first was a crappy Kyo Sohma one, and I posted it on Quizilla (Yeah, that long ago, and for reference, I'm 21). I don't remember much about Quizilla, tbh. But anyway, I just started with a spark for creative writing that grew and was nurtured through community and family until I was 16.

At 16, I had to write a short story to get into a creative writing camp here in Nashville called "A Novel Idea" where Teenagers wrote their own Novels that they got a published copy of. I asked if I could turn in a fanfic that I had recently written (Gaius from Rune Factory 3 if you're wondering), and my teacher was so freaking supportive because Fanfiction is fiction, too.

I made great friends there, and the year after, as well (yes, by my 17th birthday, I'd written probably 40-50k words and have two books published). Everyone there was so supportive.

Then... 2 years later, college strikes.

Now,  all of my teachers that I had to write essays for were great. They loved my writing and encouraged me. But I was still drained of all creative juices. I was being forced to write, and like hell I liked that. I just fell out of it.

It gets deeper. All my teachers supported my writing except my CREATIVE WRITING PROFESSOR.

She was an old hag who probably needed to retire. She picked on me because I disagreed with how she did things. She picked on me because I couldn't sit still (I have been diagnosed by a psychiatrist with ADHD). She said I "only put half effort" into everything EXCEPT WHAT I ACTUALLY HALF ASSED.

We had to keep a journal, and write in it twice a week. I literally would write everything the day before and turn it in. But nope. "I feel like this is what you put the most effort into." Bull. Shit.

She also said I was "Limiting myself by writing Fanfiction." Because we all know that making stories out of someone else's characters, and keeping them IN CHARACTER is limiting yourself.

So basically, she was the worst prof I'd ever taken from. 0/10 would recommend.

She also shamelessly self promoted her own books, and I'm not talking "Haha, if you want you can look them up!" Nope. She full on gave bookmarks and shit.

In any case, she ruined my self worth as a creative writer and shamed me in front of the entire class.

And that ended last May.

So, getting back into writing has been a rediscovering self journey. I forgot how fun it was.

If you've stick around, bless you. I encourage you to either keep writing or give it a go!

Oh yeah, and...
