We ended up at the edge of a blue tinted lake, a huge hill sat staunchly in it. The water apparently was protected by vicious sea creatures who ripped apart, and fed upon, anything that tried to cross it. You had to be able to speak their language to get pass them. On this hill a circular stone floor is set. A Tryan it was called. Lycits used these to commune with each other. Dimitri said that these were also used to carry out the initiation.
"So do you know how to speak their language?" I questioned. Staring into the water I found a small glint of glimmering gold. "Dimitri look, gold." My hand flew straight to the water hoping to grab it.
"Don't touch the water!" The tip of my finger sent a small ripple through the water after Dimitri hurriedly grabbed it. Once the ripples disappeared thousands of gold glints appeared, shining like ray of lights, all tilted towards us.
"That wasn't gold was it, Dimitri?"
"No you idiot those are the Hydrian's eyes. They use them to lure outsiders to their deaths." The eyes started moving towards us, quickly. It seemed like they were motioning themselves like mermaids. The glimmering gold lights moved in an up and down motion. "Shit get away from the water!"
My body stayed put, even after hearing Dimitri's command. It was not frozen yet I couldn't move it away from the water. The eyes came closer, the shimmering, glowing lights. They came closer and closer, eyes staring greedily, teeth baring savagely, hair flowing like it was being blown by the wind. I focused on one, her skin gave colour to the water. Mossy green over a pale blue. She was majestic. "Just let me touch her face." I reached my hand into the water deep, deep into the water. Her arm also stretched out to me her claw-like hands hoping to grab me. "Just need to.. a little more.."
"Cinyth saizak kelumor nemanth! Savages of the sea, halt!" In that instant she stopped, they stopped. 'Brother take your hand from the water.' Dimitri commanded in my mind. "We are of the Lycit blood line, I am Dimitri Mason Lycit son of Mason Frederick Lycit. We wish to pass and initiate my brother, Alistair Joseph Lycit, into his power." He paced towards me and wrapped his hand around my forearm, removing it gently from the water. It was like his touch sent electricity through my veins; I was able to pry my eyes from her and stare at him standing tall. He reached into his short's pocket, fumbled around a bit, pulled out a pocket knife and cut his finger.
I watched as a single drop of blood slid slowly down his finger and bombed the water. She swam to where his blood had landed and drank it with the surrounding water. "What's she doing brother?"
"She's confirming that I am who I say I am." He bent over and stood me up, staring straight into my eyes. "Lesson number two. In the world of Magic greed will lead you to your death."
'You will pass.' The sound of a soft voice whispered throughout my head. I could hear a little hiss in her words. Looking down to the water I saw that all the Hydrian's eyes had disappeared and she was turning to leave as well. I could see just a glimpse of webbed feet as she kicked her way back down, while she descended dark shadows made there way up, bursting out of the water as they reached the top then settling down to float slightly atop of the water close together.
"Come brother." Dimitri motioned towards the rocks and strode across.

We arrived at the Tyran it was like Dimitri said, a flat round stone floor. It had five pillars on around the edge of the floor, all touching a point of the carved in pentagram. A small circle of rocks sat in the middle of the stone floor and pentagram, filled with ash.
"Sit there." He pointed to the one of the triangles of the pentagram. "That is the section for Water, your birth element. Make sure to sit in the water drop." I did as instructed, making sure I sat in the chiselled picture of a waterdrop, while watching my brother. He sat directly across from me and held his hands over the fire pit. Whispering words he made the ashes move like a small cyclone and turned them to wood and flare to life. "Now you remember everything that I told you on the way up right?" I nodded in confirmation. "Ok then lets get this started. Across the skies, throughout the land and down the depth of the sea. Elizabeth Sylaria Lycit, I seek a council with thee."
Everything around us went black. A crack form the fire lit everything up again and Elizabeth sat in Dimitri's place.
"Welcome, my child" Elizabeth's eyes met mine. Her smile heated my body to the point where my cheeks turned red. "Dimitri has told you what this is for?" She questioned, lifting a hand over the noisy fire.
"Uhh yeah, this is called The Initiation. Every Lycit must go through this to be able to step entirely into their power."
"Is that all?"
"No, I was told that our mother gave us control over the sea. Our father gave us bravery, strength and courage and the core of our being is pure magic, that lets us bend most things to our will." I looked to her with a questioning look on my face. This better be right, I cant trust Dimitri when it comes to answers.
"Well done child, but you missed out one part. The magic came from the very first witch." She emphasised her part with her expressions, I guess this witch must be important. "She is."
"You can hear my thoughts here as well? I thought you were channeling through Dimitri?" I don't think i'll ever be alone, not when these people can hear my thoughts.
"I am the guide of all Lycits, I must be able to hear everything. All your questions should be and need to be answered." She studied me before carrying on. "As for the alone part you have the power to shut others out. Though it would be hard for you and your brother to keep track of each other."
"Cant I just un-block him and find him again?"
"No, to gain access to his mind you must physically touch him."
"Then there's nothing wrong is there? It ain't like i'm going to need him."
"Wrong. You mean a lot more not only to the Lycit race but also all magical races in both Naltyre and Earth." She scooped a ball of fire into her hands.
"What do you mean?" Looking at the ball of fire my insides reacted. It was like it wanted be one with the fire, like it was hungry for the fire's energy.
"I mean that your destiny is of great importance to both worlds." After she spoke her words her hand lifted and the ball moved from her palm to the tip of her slender fingers. With a flick the fire shot towards me, it was aimed straight towards my heart.
As it hit my body buzzed all over. Everything inside of me was tingling, shaking from the absorption of power. Stars, galaxies, the universes all flashed in my eyes. My mind raced, my body screamed, my soul moaned. Euphoric pleasure vibrated throughout my body. I could not keep it in anymore, mimicking the sound of my soul I moaned. I moaned so loud i'm sure mother could hear me. I could see colours and taste them too. I could laughter and cheering. I felt happy, the most happiest I ever felt before.
After what felt like a thousand years the sensation slowly subsided. And once it was gone I was left tingling, my body shaking.
Right before I felt my body lower an eye appeared in mind's eye. They were grey to almost black. Small weird markings formed in the iris. A feeling of hate and anger. Of jealousy and spite washed away the sensation of power.
'Your power will be mine, boy!'
I tore at the image and fell, like dead weight, to the ground. My eyes jolting open from the fright.
