Amber- this person is feeling a range of emotion

I had asked Kyle to come along with me to a concert.

At first he was really hesitant, but eventually agreed once I told him how much fun he would have.

"What band are we seeing?" He asked me, hoping onto the back of my bike.

"I'm not sure to be honest." I laughed a bit, handing him a helmet to wear.

In all honesty I knew exactly the band. Ralph and a few of our friends had started some indie band called To Kill a King. But Kyle disliked and Ralph, and Ralph disliked Kyle.

He had tried to get me to be in band. But I told him hell no. I don't sing, and never will.

"Shoot." He mumbled, the door to his house flying open and a man came running out.

"Don't you dare leave! Get your ass here right now." A man, obviously Kyle's dad shouted from the porch.

"Go Dan." He snapped, wrapping his arms around me. And so I did just that, and accelerated onto the main road.

---
"Is your dad going to be mad at you?" I asked him, the two of us standing in the small concert hall.

"Probably." He chuckled, drinking the remainder of the water bottle.

"It's alright though. He just saw your motorcycle and got mad. He'll forget about it by tomorrow." He smiled, looking me straight in the eyes.

I know it's cheesy, and all but the way he looked at me made me just want to go crazy. It wasn't the look Ralph always gave me. Kyle looked like he wanted to be talking to me.

Almost like he wanted to hear what I was going to say.

"It's starting." Kyle grinned, and turned to face the stage.

"Hey everybody, we're To Kill a King!" Ralph shouted into the microphone, looking out into the small crowd of about fifty of us.

Luckily he didn't see us yet.

"This first song is one I like to call Children Who start fires."

"Dan that's Ralph. Oh my gosh and Ian, and Ben, and Josh. I have to go." Kyle said, turning away from the stage.

"Actually no, I want to stay." He grimaced, and went back to listening.

For a little bit I zoned out, trying to figure out why Kyle was so against the guys. But then it all made sense.

..

"Come on Dan!" Ralph shouted, his intoxicated self slurring all his words into one.

"No man, I'm gonna stay here." I said, not feeling the mood. Ralph and Ian thought it was a brilliant idea to mess with some of the nerdier kids of the grade.

And so the two of them snuck into the school, and put frozen rats into a few of their lockers, along with a note.

It didn't make much sense to me, but they thought it was genius so I had played along.

What made Ralph even happier was that one of the kids had a deathly fear of rats, and now I know exactly who that kid was.

..

"This new song was uhh written by a real fucker named Dan Smith. It's called Oh My Love." Ralph grinned, the band playing the opening chord.

My mind was wondering the whole time, especially at the thought of Kyle listening to the lyrics of the song I had written.

It wasn't something meant for the world to hear. The song was personal, and fed off all of my insecurities. But Ralph didn't know that, and I would never let him.

"I have to go." He said on the verge of tears, rushing through the crowd before I could get a chance to stop him.

"Oh my love
We're destined to demise
And there's nothing I can do
No there's nothing you can say"
