Purple- the person feels a sense of purpose and clarity
"I think I kind of like this Dan. Is that weird?" Kyle asked, the two of us standing in the middle of the median.
Cars were so close to us that if I were to stick out my arm out, I would get hit.
"Seriously?" I smirked, trying to pick up any sarcasm.
"I like picking up trash." He laughed, using the pick to stab trash.
"It makes me feel helpful." Kyle smiled, blushing as he pulled his reflective vest up.
The two of us had two months of community service to complete. It is scary though because next time I get caught, it can be up to two months in a juvenile detention center. I didn't tell Kyle that though. I don't want him to worry."You are helpful." I told him, watching as his smile widened.
"You really think so? Or are you just messing with me?" He laughed, returning to picking up trash.
"Of course you fucking idiot." I said to him pushing him playfully.
"You want to know something?"
He shook his head, pausing to look at me.
"That's my favorite sweater of yours. And I don't know why I'm saying this but I'm going to keep going. I also really like when you wear a lot of rings because it's adorable. And I just really love you and that's such a weird feeling. But I really do Kyle. Sorry if it's really abrupt and and all. It's just I love you and yeah."---
I finally pulled into the driveway, my motorcycle seeming unnaturally loud. But then again every little thing I did seemed to me louder than necessary.
Mom had changed my curfew to 7:00 and now it was almost 11:00.
I really had tried to get home on time. But me and Kyle stayed at the park for a while and talked. We talked about everything. While talking I learned that Kyle was incredibly superstitious. I also learned that he hated the word sticky, which made me want to say it even more. But I also learned that he is so insanely funny, which makes me love him even more.
"Where have you been?" The door swung open, mom once again in her robe stood in the doorway."At the park." I answered trying to push past her into the house.
"Move bitch." I laughed, finally getting into the house.
"Get out." She demanded. I could tell she was about to snap, her face red with anger.
"What?" I snapped, turning to face her.
"Get out of my house. I'm done with you Dan. Leave!"
Instead of trying to calm her down though, I continued to push her buttons.
"Well I'm done with you too Suzanne. Glad to know we're on the same page!"
That's when she nearly killed me.
"I swear to god if you don't leave now, you're going to regret it!" She screamed, her voice shrill.
"Alright Suzanne calm your tits. I'm leaving now. Don't know where I'm going to go but you know that's fine!" I yelled, and then slammed the door, running out to my motorcycle.
---
"Hey Dan, goodnight." Kyle sighed, his face only inches from mine. He carefully pulled the covers up almost to his chin as he let out a yawn.
If it weren't for him, I would have slept on the park bench.
"Goodnight Kyle." I said, and fell into a deep sleep.
