Dark blue- this often is when a person shifts moods quickly. It can also show an increase in interest

"Look Kyle, I'm really sorry. Honestly I don't know what came over me. No, that's dumb." I sighed, my reflection looking back at me.

My mind wasn't coming up with anything. It felt completely blank.

"Dan get your ass down here. School time." Mom yelled from down the hall, her voice shrill.

---

The school seemed to be particularly busy, the hallways almost buzzing. Me and Ralph walked side by side down the halls, nobody bothering to cross our paths.

I'm pretty sure people are scared of Ralph, and guilt by association and shit like that makes them scared of me too I guess.

That's when I saw him at the locker across from mine. He looked particularly sad, and that really upset me. Secretly I had hoped he wouldn't be upset.

"I'll catch up with you later." I said to Ralph, watching as he left before I went and stood next to Kyle.

"Hey." I smiled, watching as he jumped, letting his books fall to the ground.

"Oh. Uh hi." Kyle said, his eyes looking down to the ground. He bent down to pick up his books scattered on the floor.

"I got it." I smiled, picking up the text books, putting them back in his locker.

"Can we talk real quick?" I asked him, gently lifting his chin with my finger so that he was looking me in the eyes.

"I guess." He struggled.

"Kyle I'm really sorry. I didn't know it would upset you. Look, I would never do something to hurt you. Kyle I uhh, love you okay." I told him, my cheeks blushing.

It was the first time in a while that I felt embarrassed, shy almost.

For a split second he looked confused, but then the confusion turned into a bright smile.

"Really?" He grinned, pushing a strand of his hair back.

"Yes Kyle, I really love you."

---

"I've never done this." He grinned, shoving another fry into his mouth.

"Eaten fries?" I laughed, sipping on my milkshake. My tongue still ached from the new piercing.

"No, skipped school." He smiled, taking a bite of his grilled cheese. It made me smile as he ordered, asking the woman if they had any vegetarian options. And being a strict burger restaurant, they only could make a grilled cheese. Of course the whole time he ordered, his cheeks were bright red and he was embarrassed as hell.

"Well there's a first time for everything."

"Woah!" Kyle shouted rather loud for the quiet restaurant.

"What?" I laughed, watching as his eyes widened.

"Your tongue! Lemme see!" And so I opened my mouth, showing off the rather swollen tongue I had pierced last night.

"That's so cool." He grinned, eating another fry.

"Thanks." I grinned, placing my hand on the table next to his. And then without a word, he took my hand smiling softly.
