Chapter nine.

Chris' Pov.

My heart was right. I get into his appartment to find him laying in his own blood, half naked. He is passed out, his phone is on the floor broken and there is blood on the wall, like he was hit into it. My hand founds my phone from the pocket faster than ever, I call ambulance to him, I know he needs it. He is breathing and his heart is also beating, he is alive, but not well. Who could do something like that to a person who is so beautiful and innocent? When the ambulance arrives they take him and luckily, me with him. At the hospital, I have time to call to everyone, soon I find Ulrike's arms around me. I haven't even noticed the tears in my eyes.  It's been two hours since he was brought here. So when doctor asks for the family of Jeremias Meinhard, I am on my feet and in front of the doctor faster than a vampire. "I'm sorry, but he is....." no he can't be dead, he can't "...in a coma. You can see him if you want to." He is in a coma!? Why weren't I there faster, I could have helped him. Seems like Ullie and Dieter had a silent agreament on me going first, to see him. Or his living corpse. Maybe he didn't talk to me much, maybe we weren't so close, but I really do care for him. His skin is so pale, almost white. His eyes are closed, but there a blue bruises covering that pale skin of his. His black hair is sticking every where. He is hooked onto the machines. He is so fragile. I fall down into the chair next to his bed, grabbibg his hand between mine. Tears, that I didn't know were there, were running down my face. Broken sob escaping. Never in my life have I felt so close to someone. Hours go by, but no one can get me away from him. I stay there whole night. Steady beeping noise in my ears, at the moment It's all that still tells me he is alive. That he is still here, that there is possibility for him to wake up. That he is still here with me.
