I was running. I don't know exactly why, but I was running. I felt the summer leaves crash down from their bonds on the trees as I rushed past them. I guess maybe I wanted to stop running, but my legs wouldn't let me. It didn't really help either that my paw got injured last Friday while I was playing with my sister. My legs started to become sore from the continuous strain. My paw was almost numb. I couldn't stop, though. Something was pulling me along.

Soon, I heard the thundering of 4 paws behind me. I didn't have enough time to look back and see who it was. A surge of panic inched its way up my spine. I could not have whatever THAT was get me.

"Lilli, you get back here! I mean it young lady! Stop running now! Lilli!"

It was my Mother coming to find me. Curse my white and gold fur! Because of it, it's pretty easy for any other wolf to spot me in the green canopy. My fur had always been a bold white with gold swirls, and I have black paws and the tip of my tail is black. I have pretty bold colors.

As soon as I heard my mom's voice, I expected to be a bit relieved. What I got instead was a bigger panic surge. My adrenaline pumped WAY up, and my focus was only on not tripping with the amount of speed I had gained. Soon, though, I saw something that told me this would be the last time I would ever run away from home.
