When I woke up, I felt a heavy breath blowing down on me. Something put a furry, shaggy paw right in the middle of my chest. I looked up, but the night made a dark blanket over everything in sight. All I saw were two large, glowing red eyes.
I was too petrified to say anything. Too petrified to even MOVE. I was helpless. Standing under the weight of that giant beast, I was nothing. I knew it, too.
The thing snarled a few times, then grabbed tighter on my fur. It's dirty paws were leaving brown smudges on my snow-white fur. It had been actually a few hours since the beast had first grabbed me, and the small drops of sun had started to corrode away the blinding dust of the cloudy night sky. I could see a bit better, now, and the creature knew it was being discovered, too. It knew exactly what it had to do to stop being seen.
In one swoop, the thing grabbed me with its dagger-like claws, unfolded two huge, leathery wings, and took off. Again, I was still too afraid to do anything, so I just hung there like a limp doll. What I heard next told me that I probably wasn't going to be the only one for this beast's breakfast after all.
"Lilli! I'm coming, DON'T WORRY!!!!!!", I heard a familiar voice scream into the dawn. I couldn't see her, but I knew it was Grasshopper coming to my aid.
For a few minutes, the only thing happening was me being carried off. All of the sudden, though, something happened. It was as if a fairy tale had come to life. Two huge vines shot up like rockets, knocking down trees in their way. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. The vines came up and slamed into the creature, then started to wrap around its neck. The thing immediately started to yelp, gasping for air, then DROPPED ME.
Ok, now I could talk. I started to scream at the top of my lungs as the wind pushed against me and made me fall even faster. The vines, somehow knowing what was going on, let go of the creature's neck and started to grab me. After they had safely cushioned me, they started to go down. Soon, I reached the ground, AND the thing that had created the vines. I was staring into the eyes of Hops. The vines dropped me and retreated into the ground. I wanted to scream, ask her what the heck just happened, but I simply said "thanks" quietly and left.
Later, me and Grasshopper were walking through the forest when I said something
"Umm...... about a few minutes ago-"
"I know. I need to tell you something, Lil." Grasshopper cut me off before I could ask about the beast.
OK, this was getting weird. I sat down, and so did Hops. She calmed me down, then explained to me that she had been born with a special power. She thought it was from her dad, but she had never met him, so she didn't know for sure. Hops was able to create, and destroy, plants.
