"Where is she? The wolf girl, I mean."
I was starting to get angry with Jade.Being an Elemental wasn't easy and with a dragoness on the team, it just got worse. I was just about to blast her with a ball of light. I (the element of purity and the creator of the sun) didn't exactly like how our conversation was going.
"That wolf girl is your daughter, JADE. She is in good hands, for I have let legend take her to the mortal world. You think just because you sit on a golden throne, you are the greatest in power. We all sit on our thrones, the 10 of us others, and Legend never gets to help. So there."
This, if course, was an absolutely terrible idea. Legend was the element of death, so technically ALL deaths in the world were caused by him. All of us Elements are good in a sense, since we are the ones who created everything you could see in life, but the element of death could probably do a lot of damage to a newborn pup or hatchling.
Truth is, the first animals that Hypnos, the element of life, created were wolves. Ever since, they have been a sacred animal of the elements, so we would trust only them to take care of our children.
Since our daughter had been born from a dragon, me, and a wolf, to take her to the mortal world we put her in wolf form. With a lot of luck, she will never find her true dragon form.
Soon, I found my claws clenching to armrests of my throne, from what emotion I could not tell. Maybe I actually CARED for this petty she wolf. No, I have never met her. She will grow up and not know her power, and stay an odd looking wolf.
Soon, Jade left, and I was left in the throne room gazing at the polished white marble walls of our Elemental Pillars. This, of course, was the dwelling place of us dragon Elementals. It's high above the clouds, and actually sits on a cloud. It's designed to blend in with the clouds, so you mortals can't see it or get to it! All of us Elementals can live there and look down on the mortal world we've created from there.
My thoughts were cut short, though. Suddenly, Anansi, the Element of time, burst into the Pillars and skidded to my throne.
"Ember! I have just made a prophecy! I have seen it with my OWN four eyes! Please don't be mad with my attempts at seeing into the future! This one involves you A LOT, so I will just....sit back.... and ....watch......". He was gasping by the end. This seemed TOO important of a prophecy for Anansi to be showing me.
I let him place the rolled parchment in my hand, and thought to myself, I wonder what ever could be THIS important. Anansi NEVER shares his prophecies with me! Anansi can see into the past, present, and future, so a prophecy from him wasn't anything special. But boy was I WRONG! Nothing could have prepared me for what I saw written in black scale ink on that torn piece of paper. It was something that could change both my life and my daughter's forever.
