13 | Au Revoir

I rode down the small road beside King Caspian as he wore his crown proudly. Peter and Susan followed along with Lucy and Edmund and our troops. People cheered, throwing petals in excitement and I smiled looking back to Peter who joined the smiling.

I sat beside Peter as we watched the fireworks go off into the sky from the middle of the castle. I looked to Peter smiling and leaning in as he kissed me softly and we pulled away.

"What am i going to do when you leave?" i asked.

"Maybe I'm not going to leave" he responded and I cocked my head to the side.

"What do you mean? You have to go with your family."

"I dont have to. I could stay here my love. Why couldnt I?"

"We'll talk to Aslan" I said leaning my head on his shoulder as he rubbed my arm lightly.

"It is written in the prophecy" Aslan spoke.

"What is?" Peter asked.

"You must leave with Peter, Avalon."

'I cant" I replied. "Narnia is my home. I wont ever be able to come back."

"Actually, theres an exception to you and Peter, whenever called, you can return. I also will gift you this necklace" he said sliding one to me and Peter. We slipped it over our heads and I sighed. looking at the button on it.

"When you press the button on it, once a year you can come back for a 3 day visit."

"Thank you Aslan" I said hugging him and he snuggled into me.

'Where will I stay?" I asked Peter.

"I graduated school last year, i have my own place, you can stay with me at my place."

'When do we leave?" I asked.

"Not for a while."

I stood beside Peter and held his hand as Caspian explained how Aslan could return some of the telmarines back to earth. The once enemys leader stepped forward offering to go. A few others joined. A tree spun around slowly cracking down the middle making a hole big enough to walk through. They approached it before dissapearing and I smiled softly as people gasped in surprise.

"How do we know he's not leading us to our deaths?" a man asked.

'If it will help me and eleven mice will go" mouse said.

"No we will" Peter said. I stepped back.

"We will?" Edmund asked.

"Come on. Our times up" Peter replied. 'After all, we're not needed here anymore."

Peter handed his sword to Caspian and I began crying. I couldn't hold it as my body shook with sobs.

'I will look after it until you return" Caspian said.

"I'm afraid that's it, we're not coming back, well me at least" Susan replied.

"Why not did you do something wrong?" Lucy asked.

"The opposite" Aslan responded. "They've learned all they could from this world, now they must live in their own."

"What about Avalon?" Lucy asked.

"She will be leaving with Peter but Peter and her can return for her sake when called and once a year for a short visit when she feels its needed. Peter has learned but I don't want Avalon alone."

"It's alright Lu" Susan said to her. "It's not how I thought it would be but its alright."

I went around thanking everyone before standing before Aslan and crashing into him and sobbing hard.

"I'm gonna miss you so much" I said through sobs and he frowned as I pulled back.

"Dear one I will see you again."

I nodded as everyone said goodbye to him and Peter latched my hand in his. I looked around admiring my home.

"No matter how far I go" I whispered. "This is home."

"Goodbye" Aslan said as we walked towards the tree.

"No. See you later. Au Revoir" I said stepping through after Peter and stepping into the world. A huge thing stopped in front of us and I jumped back, Peter catching me.

"It's a train, it will take us home" he said and I nodded.

"Train" I whispered tucking it in my memory.

"Peter grabbed a luggage like thing as stepped onto the train and he grabbed my hand.

I couldn't believe I was here.

'Dang, I left my new torch in Narnia" Edmund laughed and I laughed.

"I already miss it" I said softly and Peter laughed.

'We'll be back one day."

"One day."

That night I laid in Peters arms as he ran his fingers through my hair relaxing me.

"Peter" I said suddenly.

"Yes love" he said with a sleepy, raspy voice.

"Can I admit something?" I asked.

"What?" he asked as I looked up to him and he looked down to me.

"I'm scared" I admitted.

"Avalon as long as I am with you nothing will happen to you and I promise that."

I nodded as he leaned down placing his lips on mine and I pulled back smiling.

"Avalon" he questioned and I nodded. "I'm in love with you."

"I'm in love with you too."
