|| AZACIA'S POV||

"Az," someone knocks on my door. I sit up groggily, rubbing sleep out of my eyes.
"Morning, Jo," I yawn.
"Can you take me to school now?" She asks, biting her bottom lip. I grab my phone, checking the time. "At 5:30 in the morning?" She nods. "Just wait," I say. I grab a hoodie and lace up some vans. "Let's go," I say. Quietly, we walk downstairs, trying not to wake mom or dad. I grab my keys off the counter and we head outside.

"Can I go get some coffee first?" I ask her. She nods. Quickly, I drive to Starbucks. I pass Jo some cash and ask her to buy me a tall Cappuccino.
"Thanks," I say, grabbing the hot liquid from her and taking a few sips. She looks at me weirdly, but I put it down, start the engine and begin in the direction of Josie's school.
When we stop outside her school, I look at her. "You gonna tell me what this is about?" I ask.
"No,"
"Then get out," I tell her.
"I'm sorry, Az," she says, opening her door and then slamming it shut.
I wave it off with my hand. "You owe me pizza,"

After I see Josie enter the school, I turn the car around and begin the drive back home.

"Where were you?" Mom asks, as I walk into the kitchen. "Coffee run," I say, waving the half empty cup in front of her. When Mom doesn't say anything, I walk back upstairs to my bedroom. I collapse onto my bed. At the same time, my alarm clock decides to blare out. I hit the off button and get off my bed. Time to shower.

When I'm done, I walk over to my closet and decide today I'm dressing casual. As in Netflix casual.
I put on black leggings with a grey Nike hoodie. I add in my galaxy vans for some zest and decide to tie my hair in two messy buns on either side of my head.

I grab my phone and head downstairs. "Bye Mom, Dad," I smile at them.
"Bye Jack!" I shout.
"Josie must already be in the car," I lie, walking outside.
Getting in the car, I start the drive to school.

"Hey, princess," Grayson smiles at me, as I walk into school.
"Hey," I say, walking to my locker.
"Where were you last night?" He asks.
"I was tired. I went home,"
"I was looking for you," he says, leaning against a locker door.
I open mine, fishing out my French books.
"Oh," is all I say. "Weren't you dancing with Minnie Mouse?"
He frowns. "No,"
"Well, I'm sorry for dropping you last night,"
"It's okay. I know how you can make it up to me," he grins.
We start walking to the French class.

"Everyone sit down, please. I'd like to start right away," Miss Roux says. We all take our seats. Grayson next to me.

"Today, we will be performing Romeo and Juliet!" She smiles. Some people groan.
"And," she continues. "If it's good enough, we'll be performing in front of the whole school,"

Why are we doing Romeo and Juliet: the French version?

"Any volunteers?"
Not me.

"Azacia and I will do it," Grayson smiles at Miss Roux. I don't even get a chance to protest as Miss Roux smiles. "Excellent,"

"I don't want to do this," I tell him.
"You'll enjoy it," he grins at me.

Once Miss Roux has the whole cast. She tells us we're gonna do a practice run and hands out scripts. "Azacia, Grayson. Come up to the front, please,"

I throw my hoodie off my head, revealing the black crop top underneath. This messes up my hair, so I leave it loose.
Once I've done this, I make my way to the front.

"La Romeo, Romeo. Pourquoi es-tu Romeo," I say. This means:
O Romeo, Romeo. Wherefore art thou Romeo?

I say my further lines. Then it's Grayson's turn.

"Mais doux, quelle lumière à travers cette fenêtre se brise-t-elle?
C'est l'est, et Juliette est le soleil."

This means:
But soft, what light through yonder window breaks?
It is the east, and Juliet is the sun.

After practicing some more, the bell finally rings and I make my way outside. Grayson follows.
"Hey, Juliet," he grins at me.
"I can't believe you did that," I tell him, shoving him with my shoulder.
"I'm telling you, you're gonna enjoy it,"
"The only part I like, is when they both end up dead,"
"Wow. That's...morbid," he says. The look on his face makes me laugh.
I begin walking to my locker to put my books away.
"Oh, Grayson. If you call me Juliet any other time that's not for the play, I swear, I'll castrate you," I tell him.
"Ju-,"
"Finish that sentence, Lively. I dare you,"
"See you later, babe," he scurries away and I smile.

Once I've packed my books away, I make my way to the cafeteria. "Hey Juliet," my friends say as I sit down.
"Call me that one more time, and you're dead," I tell them.
"Aww, we love you, Az," Hannah tells me.
"I love you too, but that doesn't mean I won't physically inflict pain on you," I say.
With that, I get some pizza.

"You guys are so lame," I say, pouting at them, before taking a bite of my pizza.
