I wake up early, the excitement of it being Christmas makes me feel like a kid again. The feeling is quick to go, though as I mutter under my breath.
"Merry Christmas, Subaru." I wish he was here with us. It would be so complete. I love all of them especially when we're all together.
"Merry Christmas to you too, Aya." My eyes widen and I turn around to see Subaru sitting on a wooden chair in my room. I bolt up, staring at him.
"Am I in a dream?" He chuckles and inches closer to me, his face so close I can feel the warmth of his skin.
"Let's see..." he closes his eyes and punches my cheeks and when I open them......he's still here.
"You're home! Aw yes! Now I have the Christmas I've always wanted!" I leap up and throw my arms around him, knocking both of us to the floor. I stand and technically drag him with me as I head downstairs to see Kyoya peacefully reading the paper as usual.
"Be careful, Aya." I cock my head in question, hearing a loud bang upstairs as I do so.
"What was that?" I ask, a wave of worry beginning to wash over me. My question is soon answered when Ryo runs through the door in a bike helmet and a baseball bat and drops to the floor screaming "IT'S CHRISTMAS~!"
Hikaru soon follows, rubbing his head and looking tired I hear him muttering: "every year. Every. Single. Year." Which makes me laugh. Eventually, all ten of us are here and we begin to pass around presents and gifts we've got each other.
"Ryo...might I ask why you got me a rubber duck?" Kyoya asks, lifting a small rubber duck to Ryo. At this, the twin shrugs.
"Ryo why did you give me your old shirt?!" Hikaru questions, also getting a shrug in response. I laugh as everyone complains about their gifts from Ryo until lastly, it's my turn. All eyes on me and silence fills the room. Layer by layer I peel off the wrapping paper to see a wrapped up apple from the fruit basket. His brothers begin to harshly whisper rude things to him while making sure they watch for my reaction, half expecting me to cry and tell him he's the worst but I don't. Instead, I smile.
"Thanks, Ryo."
By Christmas dinner, we're all laughing and most of the older ones are already drunk.
"Aya~ you're wayyy too sexy~" Aito says, surprisingly. I giggle and tell him he's drunk and to go back to his room but he refuses.Everyone's laughing and I share a cracker with Subaru as we talk about his concert.
My life is going so well and I assume it will continue. Who knows what the future has in store for me... who knows if I'll have to rescue another one of these brothers from kidnappings...
All I think is...
What a life...
