~ My entire world lies in your arms~
Happy is a very small word if what Nandini was feeling was to be described in words. Some emotions can never ever be explained in words.
When someone does something solely for you, for a smile on your face, that feeling!
When someone love you inspite of all your flaws and you know they won't ever leave you alone, that feeling!
When inspite of behaving insecure, reckless and even hurting that one person who meant the world to you, he/she ensures you of their love, that feeling!
All of the above feelings were shining on Nandini's face, in her smiles, in her laughter, in her eyes and Manik could not be happier to see her that way, could he?
" By the way Nandini, do you know how many gifts did you get until now?", Manik questioned, trying to hide a smirk.
"Twenty, including the balloon decor and the flower shower!", Nandini chirped, and Manik was impressed. He had definitely under estimated her excitement.
" Yeah, and just so that you know, there are five still remaining", he shrugged trying to sound extremely casual, but Nandini jumped at the mention, clearly wide-eyed.
Before she could comprehend his logic, he held her hand and brought her back to the drawing room and pointed at the table. There lay the 21st gift- her birthday cake!
""Happy birthday Nandini! ", He wished her again, forwarding the knife and she was beaming with joy.
As she bent to cut the cake she turned back to him with a frown."Where is my candle, and sing the Birthday song for me", she demanded sounding childish but Manik found that very cute. He loved that she was comfortable enough to throw tantrums around him.
Mnaik ran and brought the packet of candles from the kitchen, decorating it on her cake and lighting it. Finally she blew the candle and closed her eyes asking her secret wish and as Manik sang the birthday song for her, she smiled and cut the cake. She took the piece and went towards him but before giving it to him, she herself took a bite of it, before forwarding it to him again. This time Manik frowned at her though he knew she would have some logic-less logic for this too.
"They say love increases when we eat our loved one's bite", Answering the unasked question with a sheepish smile, she gave him the remaining piece of cake and he smiled at her.
"We don't love a eaten bite for that sweetheart, our love will anyway always increase!", he teased her and assured her all at once. But instead of the giggle that he was expecting, he witnessed some unshed tears on her face. He cupped her face immediately and asked her what was wrong.
