~A relationship never requires words to grow, it does not need you telling again and again how you feel about her/him, all it needs is patience and the ability to read silence. ~
" Nandini please, Let's go out for dinner", Manik cribbed again while Nandini again denied. The same conversation was held for the last one hour . Manik wanted to go out and Nandini was adamant on not allowing him as the weather was already cold and she did not want him to fell ill.
"No, you tell me whatever you wish to have and I will make it at home", Nandini said and just sat on the couch, fiddling pages of a magazine. He pouted and flared his nostrils in anger. Nandini somehow controlled her urge to laugh out loud at his expressions and maintained her strict facade. Shrugging her shoulders at him she walked towards the kitchen, while Manik jumped from the chair in annoyance, and walked off to his room, shutting off the door with a bang.
After about an hour of his self contemplation to be angry or not, he eventually decided to forgive her. Although that was the most obvious conclusion because it was not possible for him to be angry at her at any cost, though. As he moved towards the door to unlock it, a white paper came sliding down the door. He picked it up and was happily surprised to read the words.
"This is to invite our honourable guest, Mr Manik Malhotra to the most lavacious dinner to be held at the terrace of his mansion. I sincerely hope he would like to attend it and honour it with his gracious presence."
He smiled at the invitation and almost ran to the terrace, unable to hide his excitement. He reached the terrace and opened the door and a cold breeze hit his face. He peeped in and was awestruck at the arrangements. There was a table kept in the side with two wooden chairs. A white table cloth decorated with fresh rose petals around and in the center. There were white cushions kept on the chairs for comfort. Candles were enlightened on the walls and it was looking like diyas brightened on Diwali. The food bowls were arranged on the table. On the other side, a couch like bedding arrangements were made and properly cushions were placed. In between bowls full of aromtous food was kept, covered with fancy transparent lids.
While he was standing at the entrance, Nandini came in front of him and extended her hand. He came out of the trance and smilingly kept his hand on hers. She took him to the table amd made him sit over there and served the food. A fresh aroma swiftly mixed in the wind enhancing the ambience of the moment. His face lit up like a 1000 watt bulb on seeing the food, all his favourites. Veg Manchurian with his favourite rajma chawal and the delicacy of hakka noodles, an interesting mix of Chinese and Indian flavours. He just happily started munching the food and after gulping down few morsels he realised she was just staring at him. So he forwarded a spoon to her and asked her to join him through eyes. She smilingly gave in and both enjoyed a heartiest dinner.
" I think I am happy now that we didn't really go out" , he acknowledged sheepishly and Nandini just blinked her eyes with a proud expression as in saying, " I TOLD YOU".
"Btw, some surprise is still left", she mentioned softly and Manik looked at her in confusion.
"What?", he queried and she giggled instead of answering.
"Someone is getting pro with surprised and all!", he said mischievously smirking at her while she just salpped his shoulder playfully.
"Don't tease me", she said strictly trying to control her blushing and took him to the couch bedding on the side. Both Sat facing each other and Nandini uncovered the lids only to see Manik's ecstatic expressions. It was a bowl of black current icecream and the other was strawberry with vanilla. He looked at her, amazed at her ability and choice and also of carrying everything out with so much elegance in such a short time without him noticing anything. Both started revilishing the taste of their respective favourite icecream when Manik again smirked at her.
