“...should I stay or should I go now? If I go there will be double, so come on and let me know...” sang The Clash. I danced around singing and sliding in my socks around the house. It’s what I do so I don’t think of my problems, and the game hadn’t started yet so it was all I have. I was wearing a pair of coral running shorts with a matching sports bra and a white shirt over it. Then the buzzer went off. I slid over and pushed the button.

“Wait a sec pizza dude,” I reply as I grab my purse and quickly go down the stairs. The door at the bottom of the stairs was a stained glassed wooden door. On the stained glass was two sunflowers, and on the outside were sunflower carvings around the door. I can see a figure through the glass and I quickly open the door. “$22.35 right?” I say as I search my wallet.

“It’s covered,” says a voice. I look up, recognizing the voice. In front of me stood James holding my pizzas and cheesy sticks.

“Since when do you deliver pizzas?” I ask as I take my things.

“I ran into him as he came in. Lucky for me the guy is on the basketball team so he let me bring it,” James said with a shrug.

“You’re coaching?” I ask. I’m standing by the door. I glance up at the stairs. Should I invite him up?

“The high school varsity team,” James replied. I nodded and we looked at each other.

“So uhm....did you just come to pay for my pizza or do you want some?” I ask. James smiled, that smile that made my toes curl and displayed his cute dimple.

“Pizza’d be nice, I did pay for it after all,” James said as he took the pizza from my hands. We made our way up and took a seat on the couch. I turned off the radio, and watched the pre-game show for the NFC finals, whoever won this one would go to the super bowl. “Nothing beats pizza and a game,” James said as he put his feet on the table next to mine. “Now all we need is some beer,” James said. Then my buzzer went off.

“Beers here,” I say as I stand up and push the open button, I knew who it was.

“You didn’t even ask,” James said.

“That’s because I know who it is,” I say as I open my door and sit with James. Voices could be heard. Maybe I should’ve checked, because I was only expecting one person.

“Pizza here already? Because the nonalcoholic beer is,” Russell said as he walked into the living room.

“Russell?” James said surprise and added, “Leo?”

“Hope you don’t mind. I invited Leo,” Russell said as he sat on the available couch.

“No problem,” I say as I bite into my pizza. Leo goes and sits next to Russell

“I brought chips,” Leo said as he lifted up two big plastic bags filled with chips and some dip.

“Sweet,” I said as I grabbed a bag.

“Packers are going to kick ass.” Asked Leo.

“That’s disgusting Leo,” I say. I stand up and pull on my shirt and say, “49ers all the way baby!” Leo booed and Russell whistled. Suddenly there’s a pillow on my face James had smacked me with it.

“Doesn’t matter who wins because the Patriots are going to take it,” James said.

“Please. They’re going to be squashed by the Texans,” I reply as I throw the pillow back at him.

There’s chips flying every where and I’m jumping up and down as the football hits the post and goes in. Those 3 point gave the 49ers the lead with only 20 seconds left. “YES!!” I yell as I jump up and down. Leo is shaking his head as if not believing it.
