I couldn’t stop the smile that appeared on my lips. I was happy, and it felt so good to be happy. The sun was rising and I got up and slipped on some running shorts and a sweater. I was gaining weight from all the mopping around I was doing from not being with James, but that was all going to change. Today was the end of our wait. I fell asleep in his arms, and he woke me up because James got called to go with his brothers, at Mrs. Laid’s request. Coincidence? I think not. He told me that he couldn’t wait until we got home, so I have a feeling tonight it’ll be official, James and I are back together!
I walked out of my hotel room at the same time as Ella left hers. She smiled over to me.
“You look happy,” Ella said. I grinned.
“I am happy,” I replied.
“Good. I’m so glad to see you like this.”
“Things are going to change Ella, I can feel it. Everything is going to get better from here. I just know it.”
“Where you off to?”
“I’m going for a run. I put on a little weight recently.”
“I didn’t want to say anything.” I rolled my eyes.
“You all coulda told me I looked like a fatty.”
“You do not. For a second you had mom worried.”
“What?”
“She thought you were pregnant. You know how she is.” I rolled my eyes.
“Yeah, she wishes I was.”
The wedding preparations were all ready. Rosa and Larry’s destination wedding was ready to go. I was beyond excited, today was a great day. I flattened my dress and walked over to my sisters and Rosa. Everything was ready. “Thank you guys for everything,” Rosa said with a smile. I grinned.
“You deserve it Rosa, and so much more,” said my mom as she joined us. Rosa smiled at her sister then at my sisters and me.
“You guys are the best,” Rosa said getting teary eyed.
“No crying Rosa, not on your big day,” Ginger said. I hugged Rosa.
“Congrats,” I said excitedly. Sure Rosa and Larry had been together for awhile, but this was Rosa’s dream wedding. Rosa hugged me tight.
“I feel sick,” Ginger said as she quickly went to the bathroom.
“She okay?” I asked as I looked over to the bathroom. My mom rolled her eyes.
“Morning sickness,” Ella said.
“I think she’s letting the pregnancy get to her. I didn’t have morning sickness at four months. I actually didn’t have it that bad until 3 months and then it went away,” my mom said with a shrug.
“Yeah, I had a little bit for the first 2 months,” Rosa said.
“We’re all built differently,” Ginger said as she walked over to us.
“What makes you sick?” Ella asked.
“Everything,” Ginger said wide eyed.
“Oh yeah? Is that why you inhaled the doughnuts?” I asked with a raised brow.
“When you’re pregnant, you can judge, but until then....zip it,” Ginger said. I smiled.
“My lips are sealed, I don’t intend to have kids, for awhile…..a very long while,” I replied.
“Break my heart while you’re at it,” my mom said. I rolled my eyes. I was still young. I was in no place to have kids. I was too selfish. Plus, babysitting Rosa’s kids made me realize I was so totally not ready.
