07| Real life

It was official. She hated the heat.

Summer had always been the season she hated most, even though her birthday was right in the middle of it. August, she thought distastefully. Aria was sitting in front of her, gushing about her engagement ring and all she could think of was how many drops of sweat were dripping on her body.

Ellie was pouting, a chocolate milkshake on her left hand (she'd forced them to go to that precise café, demanding a milkshake) and her phone on the other as she ranted about how much she wanted one of those.

"Have you told Luke?"

Whatever Ellie was going to say next, it died after Matilda's question. Not that she wanted to bring up the unwanted subject, but before getting engaged, Ellie should at least tell Luke about baby.

"I... I have."

Both Aria and Matilda sat up in a rush.

"And?!"

Ellie took a sip of her of her milkshake, put the phone down and suddenly a big smile was etched on her face.

"He was very happy. Said he was sure it was boy and if so he wants to name him James."

Matilda snorted and Aria seemed to be glowing.

"James? What a common name. No offense, though."

Ellie seemed to think about what she said, before starting to laugh herself.

"You're right! And I mean, James Mitchell? Nah, doesn't sound right."

Aria fished a small notebook from her while the other two laughed, and had probably materialized a pen right there, which she held up in the air.

"Let's brainstorm! I'm sure we can find another name for him. Or her. One that Luke will like."

The two other females laughed and Matilda seemed to be deep in thought, before excitingly throwing her hand in the air, like a kid in elementary school.

"Uh, uh! What about Antonia? Antonia Beatrice Mitchell."

The three women doubled up in the midst of laughter, Ellie being the first to sober up.

"Oh god, that's horrible. Do another! Aria write that one down. Lord knows Luke might like it."

If a worst name came up during the time they spent at the café, they surely didn't write it down.
