Stephanie's P.O.V

I get on my phone as all of us sit in the booth waiting for Louis. 6 missed calls, from mom, I'm dead.  I rush out of the booth and call her. "Mom? How are you? I'm sorry I haven't answered your calls, I left my phone in the apartment." I say walking to the empty bathroom. "Stephanie, I want you to have your phone with you all the time. Something happened here at home." She says nervously. "What is it mom?" I say with anticipation.

"Stephanie, Mimi, your grandma, is in the hospital. She had really low blood pressure and we took her to the hospital." She says. "Wait, what? Mom when was this?" I say, tears start to fill my eyes. I quickly got the memory of when Mimi went to the hospital a while back.

FLASHBACK

"Stephanie, press the nurse button, now! Hurry up!" Mimi gasped. I repeatedly press the button with fear. I see her wheezing and gasping. Tears fill my eyes and I run into the hallway. "Anybody, please help!  My grandma can't breath!" I beg. I see no one listening to me so I run back into the room. "Stephanie. Help." She gasped.

I run up to her bed and start giving her mouth to mouth, nothing. I run to the utility closet and grab the oxygen tank. I hook it up as fast as my shaking hands could go. "Mimi, wait one more second. Everything is going to be alright, stay calm." I say hoarsely. She begins to flutter her eyes shut. " No, not today, not my grandmother." I whimper.

I  finally hook up the tank and the air cord to her mouth. She begins to gasp, and  finally begins to breath normally. I sigh in relief and wipe the burning tears off my cheek. The door slams open and I see the nurse.

"What's the problem Stephanie?" The nurse said looking at me. I've been volunteering here at the hospital for about 6 months now. All the nurses loved me, except for this one. "The problem was, you didn't come fast enough! My grandmother nearly died in front of me!" I yell. "I know I'm only 16, but at least you people can listen to me as I pleaded for help!" I scream again. " Stop screaming at me, I was busy." She sasses.

"Oh, no. You know in THIS hospital if someone presses the nurse assistance button 6 times, it's an emergency. I pressed it nearly 21 times. That's more than the code limit states for a near death emergency." I say raising my voice. The nurse gives me a dirty look. "Nice to know how important this job is to you." I hiss.

"I went to the utility closet and grabbed an oxygen tank, hooked it up, and saved my grandmother's life." I say proudly. I give my grandmother a kiss, and head for the door, not making eye contact at anybody. "Thank you." I hear my grandma whisper behind me.

FLASHBACK OVER

I tremble  at the thought and hear my mother say, "This morning. Stephanie, Mimi wants you hear with her." "Mom, I'll get right on it." I begin. "How is she now? It's only 9." I say. "She's asleep with the oxygen tank in. Your father is here with us. He wants to speak with you." She says.

I hear the phone transfer into my dad's hands. "Hello, Stephanie?" He begins. "We need you here. I just put 4,000 dollars in your bank account. I want you to buy a plane ticket to come to South Dakota." I hear.

I'm in shock, I've been in Chicago for about a month, and I need to go back?  How am I going to tell Kate? What about Harry?  "Ok dad. I'll look at plane tickets right now. Tell mom and Mimi I love them and will see them soon. Is Cristina there?" I say.

"No your sister isn't. She can't come. She's in a tight jam where she is living." He says with disappointment. "See you soon Stephanie. We love you." He says. "Ok I love you dad." I say hanging up the phone.

Great, my night is ruined with worries and me overthinking. I sit back down in the booth to see the girl, all over Harry. I try to ignore it and go on my phone. I begin to look at airplane tickets. Kate walked by us and she said something. She was with Louis, He seemed uneasy. I nod, looking as if I understood what she said.
