"Yes. I do like you..."

Jemma was taken aback from her answer but then happy. Robin's hug got tighter after saying that.

"Do you like me?"

Robin's voice was too muffled because she dug herself deep in her shoulder but it was loud enough for Jemma to hear it. She bit her lip contemplating whether to tell or not. If she tell her the truth, things will get complicated. If she told a lie, both of them will just be strangers to each other, chasing each other...

Potentially killing each other.

Her brain stopped functioning after stating a few consequences she thought of. The answer was simple, 'yes' or 'no'. Truth or Lie?

She bit her lip and lowered her head which made Robin let go from the hug. Jemma smiled a bit,

"Thanks for being honest and all but romance isn't in my category. I just kissed you 'cause I had to make you spill the beans."

Robin's chest ached from her answer but she expected that.

"Sorry..."

Jemma said and walked out of the kitchen, leaving Robin for alone time. She could've said yes, she could've been the one who will take care of her for the rest of their lives, having fun, share their deepest secrets, cuddle and other things they could've done if they were lovers.

But the only thing that's stopping them was their jobs.

Robin wanted to cry, thrash the whole place, run out from the house and get lost. But then she knew it's best if she never liked her. She knew that it's better if they just continued as strangers.

Today was the last day that she'll see Jemma again. She thought today would be special but... it all ended like this.

Jemma felt like she wasn't needed so she left without her knowing. She pulled her hood up to cover her face and stealthily sneaked out going back to her base. Lea was walking back and forth waiting everyday for Jemma to report. Once she heard footsteps, she looked up and saw Jemma.

"You got it?" She raised an eyebrow.

"Oh crap," She muttered.

Lea sighed in disappointment. "For nearly f*cking two weeks, you got nothing."

"Oh I dunno... she seems a bit intimidating and getting her trust was too difficult. She obviously doesn't trust me."

"Whatever, if you can't do it properly, then I'll do it." Lea grumbled. "You and your lame excuses."

"Let me go with you."

"And why?"

I just want to see Robin again.

"We're bound by a contract. We can't break it."

"Oh. True that... I guess I got no choice."

Good.

"Since Rob- Woods knows me more. Then I'll do all the procrastination. You go find whatever we need to get."

They went to their rooms and grabbed the equipments they needed for this short mission. Jemma was slightly excited yet nervous what was going to happen next. She was busy doing a self debate until Lea helped snapping her thoughts out.

"You're good to go?"

"I don't really have to bring much. I'm just the procrastinator and you have to do the majority of the work."

Lea glared at her.
