Joker won't stop protesting that he has to stay in bed. "I'm the boss. I tell you what I will do!" Such a childish man. If he would just let me live.
"Shut up. You're being stupid. If I let you go out a ONE day after you were shot, you'd regret it. You would get mad because 'how could you let me roam the streets with a wound' and I'm not having it. I can do it on my own. You're the boss but even they have someone above them. Now sit down." I don't like getting rude with him but sometimes, I have to. If he goes out here, he will be slow and become even more weak.
Joker threw a lamp down and caused it to shatter. I shook my head and left as he sat down. At least he listened.
As I was walked down, I saw Ralph smiling. "Good job on getting the point across. Want me to go out with you?" I laughed at him and shook my head before waving to the boys and leaving.
I love being alone sometimes. For a while, I was alone. I had no one but myself and my dog. Now I have too many people and a dog. I love Joker and even have formed a bond with some of the henchmen. However, I'd like some me time. So, riding around and trying to find some crazy lady is going to have to be me time. I'm okay with that.
I wore normal clothes today. Because of all my head gear, no one really recognizes me when I go out and look normal. My white motorcycle really helps, too. Everyone knows that the Queen of Gotham has a purple crotch rocket. It's not like I'm unprotected or anything. I have a gun and a knife hidden in my boot and in my jacket that I'm wearing.
When I walked into the coffee shop, I saw Bruce. Of course he would be here, you know? I walked past him and he grabbed onto my arm. "Hey. What are you doing here, exactly?" He is going to blow my cover. I'm going to break his arm in as little as two seconds and I won't care.
"Sir, I'm afraid I don't know who you are." People started looking and I shot him a look. Bruce nodded and finally got the hint before apologizing. I continued on my way, getting my black coffee and leaving the shop. Once I left, Bruce was sitting on my motorcycle. The men who were once by his side, now stood across the street and I rolled my eyes at him.
"Such hatred in one small woman." He laughed and moved out of my way. I got my helmet on and sat down. "Bruce, you know I played you, right? My boyfriend is also kind of your enemy." He laughed and grabbed my coffee.
I shot him a look and went to go grab for it but he pushed my hand away. "We don't have time for you to finish it here and look at your phone. Besides, who just sits and drinks on a motorcycle? Go to the Batcave." Before I could respond, he went off to his car. I got fully on my motorcycle and started to go on my way to the Batcave.
When we got there, my coffee was given to me by an older man. "Thanks." He nodded and walked off. I remembered my way around, for the most part. I remember the bar room and then taking a left and going down a long hallway that led to a door. Once I got to that door, it opened for me. Bruce was standing there with a shiny smile. I did nothing but walk in, sipping on my now semi warm coffee.
On a computer were photos of a women in a pitch black outfit. There were many shots of her killing people and walking away but never of her afterwards. Her face is covered so there's no way we could possibly identify by facial recognition. "Well, from what I can tell, I'm pretty sure this woman is around 5 foot 7 inches. Very tall. We don't even know if she has hair. We don't know what skin colour she is. We don't even know her eye colour. There's never more than the victims blood at the crime scene and honestly, this information is useless. She's too well hidden." The frustration in his voice was evident and it made me feel bad.
I took the last sip of my coffee and looked at the photos. Bruce watched as I looked closely at the screens and I noticed a lot about this girl. They look too intensely. It's a good thing the called for me because I don't know if they'd ever found her otherwise.
"Well, she's left hands and has hair. It looks to be black or a dark colour. Zoom in on this photo." Bruce zoomed in on a photo and I moved the photo around to see if I could read a sign. "It looks like she's doing all of this near everyone's safe ground." Bruce looked at me and I pointed at a photo. "This guy was killed at his home." I pointed at another. "Everyone knows Devo kills all his victims at the wasteland." I pointed at another. "This man is always seen at th-" Before I could finish, I was interrupted.
Bruce's hand went up in the air, knowing more information and still looking frustrated. "Okay, but why? Why is she doing it where people feel safest at? How do we know who the next victim is?" I stared at him trying to find an answer. I honestly have no idea the answers to either one of those. The only one who can answer those is her.
We both walked out and went to the main area of the house, the area people are able to see. "Well, if you want to look around, you're going to have to be careful. We don't know what this lady knows." I was handed a hard drive and he walked me out the door. "That's all the information we have of her. If you get more, put it on there." I nodded and walked away without saying anything.
Once I was back in the heart of the city, I just walked around. Looking for anyone who looked like her. I had my earpiece in just in case I needed to call Bruce and I had my cameras lenses in to take photos of any suspects.
One lady caught my eyes. Right as I saw her, Joker called me. Instead of using my earpiece, I just brought my phone up to my ear. "What's shakin' bacon?" I heard him laugh and it made me smile.
"Have you found anything on this woman?" I honestly didn't know. If I told him that I had information, I couldn't tell him how. He'd kill me and Bruce.
"Not really, I know that she's a women and no one knows what she looks like. Pretty trained, never goes without a kill. Never gets hurt." That should do, doesn't sound like I got too much information.
"Okay. Call me if something goes wrong or right." I ended the call once he said his last word and I continued to follow the women. I blinked three times fast to get a good photo of her face and I made sure to keep some distance.
She turned into a restaurants alleyway and a few seconds after, I did as well. Much to my surprise, no one was there. I looked everywhere and couldn't find her. Next thing I know, my lens start going crazy with fuzz and there's a loud pitch noise in my ears. The pain in unbearable and I don't even realize I'm on the ground screaming until it stops and there's a man crouched down asking me if I'm okay.
I tell the man I'm okay and walk off. That had to be her, though. There's no other explanation at to why that happened. I speed dialed Bruce and he answered right away.
"Bruce! I think I found the girl." I heard a silence on the other end and then he started talking. I almost got nervous.
"Maya, are you sure? We only know her height, figure, and dominate hand." Wow, this man really doesn't understand how easy it is to get a suspect from that.
"Yes, I'm sure. She got away though. I'm going to go to your place though. I don't want to have anything else happen." I hung up and ran to my motorcycle, going out the the Batcave as fast as I could.
