Mayas POV
A couple days after Joker got his tattoo from me, we visited Blaze. The whole deal we had with him was to keep Lex in jail. There was a meeting that we was going to be out and Blaze was once affiliated with him. If Lex comes out, Batman dies, Joker dies, and maybe even I die.
Now we sit at Jokers club with Blaze in front of us. They held a stare at one another and I walked off. People were dancing around and I decided to go step on the stage where the chains and poles were. When I looked over to Joker, his eyes were on me. My hips moved and I danced around with another women. We were both showing enough skin to basically be naked. The way my tattoos showed made everything even more sexy.
Blaze was still talking to Joker as I danced. The music was fast and easy to move to. When I heard Joker yell out my name, I jumped off of the stage and jogged over. I leaned over the island that separated the dance floor from the table and Joker spoke up.
"This fine piece of chocolate says that the only way for Lex to have a break down is if you trigger him. Would you like to guess why a visit to the man who wanted you would be irrational?" There was a shake in his voice as he smiled and used his hands as he spoke. I'd had no clue Joker had known Lex had a thing for me.
I brought my gun out and shot the man that came with Blaze. His eyes got wide as he stood up and I pressed my gun to his head, makin him sit back down with his hands up. "He worked with Lex. The only way you get personal information from me is if you ask me." Joker stood up behind me and laughed with his hands up. He did a little circle and then went in Blaze's face in one swift moment.
"You want fire in this, you want some exciting." He growled. "Well, she's a bomb. We will watch everything explode in front of us and I've got the gasoline for more flames." His mouth opened as wide as it could as he laughed in the mans face.
Blaze looked the other way and Joker stood back up straight with a childish smile. I sat down in the booth and Joker say next to me. "The only way this will work is if we become a team. It doesn't have to last long, I'm not asking for sanity or friendship. I'm tellin' you that there needs to be trust and cooperation." I looked coldly at Blaze and he nodded, with the same stare on me.
"Fine. Just tell your lady to stand down, J. And you need to stop with all the talk." Joker was going to say something but I slid my arm around his to give a light grasp on his bicep.
Joker cleared his throat and chuckled. "Learn how to speak and treat her and we won't have a problem." Joker leaned forward with his arms to his sides so he can get close to Blaze, his mouth hung open. Blaze nodded then looked to me. "Could you go to the prison tomorrow? I've got some of my guys who will help you get in and speak to Lex. Dress how you did when you worked with him, please. And try not to kill him." Then he got up and went away. Joker and I followed soon after he left and went our separate ways, me on a motorcycle and him in his car.
The next day, I was getting ready. Joker was on the bed as I was putting my hair up and wore a white blouse and a black pencil shirt. I had to cover up all of my tattoos. The plan was to go in there and make it seem as though I had my normal life like when we were working together. I was to check up on him as a concerned friend or lover, then leave. So, that's exactly what I did. Joker drove me to the prison then went wherever until I needed to be picked up. I got a slap on the ass before he left and he just got a death glare that he ignored.
As I walked through, I had contacts that told me who was who and who I needed to trust. I made eye contact with the guys working with Blaze and I and they nodded to me, pointing down hallways to direct me to where I need to be.
Once I made it to the doors to speak to a prisoner, the men smiled at me. They were working with us as well. "Go on ahead and Mr. Lex with be on the left, Ms. Genevieve." I nodded and walked in. My heels clicked as I walked on down and saw Lex being sat down. I looked at the guard behind him and he also worked with us. Well, it was Todd so it didn't take much to notice him.
On the other side of the glass, Lex was bald. His facial expression was pure anxiety and happiness all on one. He picked up a phone and I did as well. "Oh, Genevieve! What a nice surprise, my dear. How do you do?" There was no doubt that I missed him. For a while we were friends and I missed that.
I cleared my throat to speak and he continued smiling to me. "I've been great. I'm still working in businesses and I wanted to check up on you. I've really missed you, Lex." His smile almost faded away but it came right back up. His hand went to his temples and he squinted.
"Ah yes. Rumor has it that you work with The Joker." The sternness in his voice didn't match his happy face. It was off putting and I shook my head.
"Oh gosh, no. There's a reason those are just called rumors. I'm not Maya whatever. Ask anybody who works with Darrell Chambers." That's Blazes real name for his alter ego so he can work for a company he runs. Everyone in the building are criminals or just oblivious.
Lex nodded, looking convinced and then slide his hand under a hole, grabbing mine. I did the same and he rubbed his thumb on my hand. "I've miss you a lot, Genevieve. It gets lonely in here." His smile was gone and he looked sad, really sad. It made me pity him and I saw Todd looking down at us. I sent a shy smile to him and he looked away. I'm hoping he won't tell J about this.
"Times up, lover boy. Say goodbye to the hot mama." Todd gripped his shoulders and stood him up.
Lex raised his hands up in his handcuffs and yelled at me. "We should do this another time, my dear!" I nodded and waved back at him. Through my earpiece I paged Joker. He picked up immediately and I started speaking.
"Hey, come pick me up, why don't cha?" I heard him laugh through the earpiece and the sound of the car was sounded through to my end.
"Already was. I'll be there by the time to get out the doors." I hung up and started going down all the halls and stairs then got out of the building. Like Joker said, he would be there by he time that I got out and was able to get me in the car right away.
"So, how'd it go with your bestie?" I rolled my eyes as Joker played around with my mission. "Oh, sorry. Was that not the right term?" I hit his shoulder playfully and we sped off to Jokers house for the rest of the night. His house was closer and we needed to discuss things about Lex and also just chill out with one another.
Tonight should be pretty great.
